it's alright things are gonna be alright it's alright, i'm not gonna stress tonight but i'm tires and i'm tired and i'm bored i'm tired everyday and everyday is so long it's alright im not gonna stress tonight alright, looking my best tonight but don't you say it now
you bleed us dry and suffocate our lives and when we speak our minds you wanna lock us up inside and then tag us as an anti social lazy good for nothing scrounging, bit of thieving shite kiss this and kiss this and kiss this we just can't survive in this sickness and we're tired of the do gooders who think everyones lovely it's just the way the world is, the good, bad and the ugly

The song "Scum" by Missing Andy is a commentary on the frustrations and difficulties faced by those who are struggling to make ends meet in society. The lyrics depict the daily struggles of trying to survive, with the singer waking up feeling like their spirit has been robbed and the only bright spot is the prospect of a drink at the pub. The singer laments being treated as a "vagrant" and spit on as they are forced to live on the streets, with the job center turning them away and denying them any hope of financial support.
The chorus provides a glimmer of hope in the face of these difficulties, with the singer reassuring themselves that "things are gonna be alright" and they are not going to stress tonight. However, the song takes a darker turn in the second verse, as the singer rails against the societal stigmatization of those who are struggling. They feel suffocated and silenced, with any attempts to speak their mind being met with accusations of being "anti-social" or "scrounging". The singer points out the hypocrisy of those who claim to care about others while turning a blind eye to the struggles of the less fortunate.
Overall, "Scum" is a powerful and poignant song that shines a light on the realities of poverty and the ways in which society often fails those who are struggling. Its emotional and haunting lyrics are sure to resonate with anyone who has ever felt marginalized or treated unfairly due to their economic circumstances.
