Elliott is one of the first female hip hop superstars, known for a long series of hits including "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)", "Hit 'Em Wit Da Hee", "Get Ur Freak On", "One Minute Man", "Work It", and "Lose Control". In addition she has received recognition as one of the most successful songwriters of the modern music era, having crafted a number of hit records for artists such as Aaliyah, 702, Total, Ciara, Nicole Wray and Tweet, often with production-partner and childhood friend Timbaland. She was the third female rapper to ever go Platinum, behind Lil' Kim and Da Brat.
Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, she began her career in the all-girl R&B group, Sista in 1993. Eventually, the band folded and Elliott began her career as a solo rapper. Since the early 1990's, Elliott has won six Grammys, recently scoring one for her video of "Lose Control."
Other releases are 'Teary Eyed' and 'We Run This', and the last of these two songs will be the main single of the new greatest hits album titled 'Respect M.E.: Best Of' featuring 17 tracks from her six albums.

Do the Sista bounce (there they go daddy), do the Sista bounce (oh)

When I rock the Sista bounce I make my ass shake
Tango, Rock N' Roll
Dance motherfucker, dance motherfucker, ho
I got more bounce to the ounce when I ounce's amounts
And I'm turnin' shit out, and I'm burnin' shit out
Hot damn, I got my Sista clan freakin'
That dance from ?, yeah I think I need a
Phat bass line to make you pop that coochie
For all you hot hoochies, shake your fishy sushi's
Now I'm about to be out with my nigga
DeVante swing me out, do the Sista bounce out
[DeVante] (Sista)

Do the Sista bounce (there they go daddy), do the Sista bounce (oh)

The song "Bounce" by Missy Elliott featuring Sista is a classic club banger that's all about dancing and having a good time. The DeVante-produced track features a catchy beat and heavy bassline that is sure to get anyone on the dancefloor. The song is essentially about the Sista bounce, a dance move that involves shaking one's posterior in time with the music. Missy Elliott's verse is full of sexually suggestive lyrics, but it's done in a playful and fun way that's meant to get people moving and grooving.
The song's lyrics are not supposed to be taken too seriously, but they do offer some insight into the dance culture of the time. The idea of the Sista bounce is a nod to the prevalence of bounce music in the late 90s, which was a style of music that originated in New Orleans and was known for its heavy basslines and fast-paced rhythms. The lyrics also reference other styles of dance, like the tango and rock n' roll, and encourage people to let loose and get down on the dancefloor. Overall, "Bounce" is a fun and upbeat song that's perfect for a night out at the club.
