Elliott is one of the first female hip hop superstars, known for a long series of hits including "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)", "Hit 'Em Wit Da Hee", "Get Ur Freak On", "One Minute Man", "Work It", and "Lose Control". In addition she has received recognition as one of the most successful songwriters of the modern music era, having crafted a number of hit records for artists such as Aaliyah, 702, Total, Ciara, Nicole Wray and Tweet, often with production-partner and childhood friend Timbaland. She was the third female rapper to ever go Platinum, behind Lil' Kim and Da Brat.
Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, she began her career in the all-girl R&B group, Sista in 1993. Eventually, the band folded and Elliott began her career as a solo rapper. Since the early 1990's, Elliott has won six Grammys, recently scoring one for her video of "Lose Control."
Other releases are 'Teary Eyed' and 'We Run This', and the last of these two songs will be the main single of the new greatest hits album titled 'Respect M.E.: Best Of' featuring 17 tracks from her six albums.

Kiss me, hold me
The weatherman says it's gonna be
Cold tonight
Whatever, man
Whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever
Whatever man, you wanna doI'll be the pilot
Don't miss your flight
I'm the stewardess of the plane
Can you feel the turbulence and maintain?
Please refrain, stay in your seats
Until we reach the gate (until we reach the gates)
I'm the stewardess of the plane
Can you feel the turbulence and maintain?
Please refrain, stay in your seats
Take me higher
Let's just go for a little
Joy ride
Whatever man
Whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever
Let's stay
Buckled up, and let's make love
Across the friendly skies
I'm the passenger of this plane
I feel the turbulence, I'll maintain (I will maintain)
I will refrain, I'll stay in my seat
Until I reach the gate (until I reach the gate)
I'm the passenger of this plane (yeah, no, no, no)
I feel the turbulence, I'll maintain (I'll maintain)
I will refrain, I'll stay in my seat
(I want you, I want you) I want you
Hey baby, I want to (baby, you know I want)
I really, really wanna- you (you)
I sho' nuff wanna- (hey) you (ooh, mm)
I want you
Yes I do (I want you)
Baby, baby, I want to (I want, I want to)
(I know you know what I want)
I really, really wanna- you
I really wanna- you
I sho' nuff wanna (fuck) you (sho nuf wanna)
Is there anything that you want?
Is there anything that you need?
Call on me (Ginuwine)
Call on me (Ginuwine)
Is there anything that you want?
Is there anything that you crave?
Call on me (Ginuwine)
'Cause I'm a passenger of your plane
Yeah
Missy, fly with me
Missy, fly with me, fly with me
Missy, fly with me (check it out, check it out)
Missy fly with me, fly with me
Missy Elliott's song "Friendly Skies" appears to be about a couple who are planning to get intimate on a flight. The lyrics suggest that they are looking forward to being alone on the plane, where they can engage in sexual activity without being interrupted. The song begins with Missy Elliott offering to be the pilot for the flight, implying that she will take control of the situation. The couple then talk about feeling the turbulence of the flight, which can be interpreted as a metaphor for the intensity of their passion.
The lyrics also suggest that the couple are looking for excitement and adventure in their relationship, as they talk about going on a "joy ride" and exploring the "friendly skies" together. The use of the word "friendly" in the title of the song may suggest that the couple are looking for a safe and non-judgmental space to explore their desires. However, the chorus of the song suggests that this may not be entirely true, as the couple are urged to "stay in their seats" and "refrain" from acting on their desires until they reach the "gate."
Overall, the lyrics of "Friendly Skies" appear to be about the thrill of forbidden love and the desire to break free from the constraints of the everyday world. The song's playful and suggestive tone creates a sense of excitement and anticipation, inviting the listener to join the couple on their journey of exploration.
