But before I go I just want to thank God
For staying with me through my ups and downs
And through my whole period of doing this album
I want to thank Timbaland
Who came up with the beats
And all the people that appeared on my album
Make it hot, alright, I'm out
The lyrics of Missy Elliott's song "Missy's Finale" are a reflection on her gratitude towards God and her team for their support throughout her music career. The opening line, "Yo, you have come almost to the close of my album," is a reference to the end of her current album, saying goodbye to her listeners for a moment.
