Elliott is one of the first female hip hop superstars, known for a long series of hits including "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)", "Hit 'Em Wit Da Hee", "Get Ur Freak On", "One Minute Man", "Work It", and "Lose Control". In addition she has received recognition as one of the most successful songwriters of the modern music era, having crafted a number of hit records for artists such as Aaliyah, 702, Total, Ciara, Nicole Wray and Tweet, often with production-partner and childhood friend Timbaland. She was the third female rapper to ever go Platinum, behind Lil' Kim and Da Brat.
Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, she began her career in the all-girl R&B group, Sista in 1993. Eventually, the band folded and Elliott began her career as a solo rapper. Since the early 1990's, Elliott has won six Grammys, recently scoring one for her video of "Lose Control."
Other releases are 'Teary Eyed' and 'We Run This', and the last of these two songs will be the main single of the new greatest hits album titled 'Respect M.E.: Best Of' featuring 17 tracks from her six albums.
Religious Blessings
Missy Elliott Lyrics

A part of the glamor and the glitz
Platinum rings and different things
How easy we forget
For it is Him, the Lord Almighty
Who allows us our success
When you on top above the charts
Do you think without Him
You would be who you are?
For if He made heaven and earth
He also made you a star
So as we reach the year 2,000
You know there's One higher than us
And I come to be that tool to tell you
In God we must trust
Love you
The lyrics of Missy Elliott's song Religious Blessings speak to the idea of staying grounded and remembering the importance of faith, even in the midst of fame and success. The song talks about how easy it is to get caught up in the glamour and glitz of the entertainment industry, and to forget that the success we experience is ultimately a result of the blessings and guidance from a higher power. The song's message encourages listeners to stay humble and grateful, and to recognize that their talents and achievements are gifts from above.
The lyrics of the song culminate with a call to trust in God, particularly as the world approaches the year 2000. This suggests that the song was released in the late 1990s or early 2000s, during a time when there was likely a lot of hype and concern about the transition to the new millennium. Overall, the lyrics of Religious Blessings offer a message of humility and faith, reminding listeners to stay centered in their beliefs even in the midst of worldly success.

Anyone else get too excited for a second there? I got the notification on my phone and thought she was finally releasing new music and hopefully, finally, the new album. Please, we need it! Pharrell said it's dope in an interview. He said he heard it. You can't leave us like this with little teases from people here and there! π We miss your albums, Missy! I grew up listening to you. One of my favorite artists ever. So much positivity and fun and really dope beats by Timbo! Hell yeah! Pharrell too!
