Mistah F.A.B. was born and raised in North Oakland and raised by his grandmother and his mother, who sometimes worked four jobs to support him while his father was incarcerated. When F.A.B. was 12, his father died of complications of AIDS. Around that time, F.A.B. started writing and rapping. In high school F.A.B. competed in freestyle rap.

F.A.B.'s use of the word "welcome" implies that the person entering Hell had some say in the matter, which echoes the idea of being willingly complicit in a negative situation. The chorus then repeats a few times with variations on the idea of arriving in and accepting one's place in Hell. F.A.B.'s position in the song is that he and the listener are both flawed, even during their time on earth. He admits that they both "fucked it up" and they "had no idea" what they were doing, and they "blamed each other for what we had done." He concludes the song with an acknowledgment that "we're all screwed."
