As a quick background, MC Crown was born in Curacao in 1974. Raised in a family of musicians, his father was a famous bass player back in the days in a band called “The Crowns”. One could say that the circle is now complete!
His uncle was the lead singer in the band. His mother played the keys and organs, other uncles played guitar, drums and sang backing vocals. The musical vibe that was present in his family from such an early age inspired him to take music seriously. At six years old his mother gave him a piano for his birthday and he fine-tuned his skills with piano lessons. Amazingly, Crown still has the very same piano and many songs were written on this instrument! After 10 years of intense training, Crown is proud to call himself a true pianist. With his Caribbean background and jazz educated style he can make almost any kind of tune with skill, soul and true quality.
Fast forward to the present day and it’s clear the skills learnt at an early age have paid off. After relocating to Holland, Crown began experimenting with his voice, and also, crucially, found a real talent for producing projects for others.
To date, Crown has written and produced songs for artists such as Re-Play, Dignity, Nasty, David Goncalves, JK, Sat-R-Day, Ivan Peroti, Def Rhymz, Ebon-E, Milton (Ex-Romeo), Lloyd de Meza, Fouradi, P.Moody and many more.
He then started recording his first single and album project with a group called Sat-R-Day. After working with different producers and song-writers he started his own production company called: EC-Music (named after his two sons, Edi..o & Cordell).
Then came the big one. Crown experienced a major breakthrough with Fouradi's track"1 Ding" (produced by Crown) was a national hit all over the Lowlands, reaching number 11 in Holland's national top 40. The follow up production for artist LLoyd de Meza ft. Crown entitled "Niemand Weet" also made huge waves in the industry.
Crown is no stranger to producing music for Extrema; in 2005 he was behind Mischa Daniels’ track “So Strong” and is also behind this year’s theme (see next section).
Let’s not forget that Norway’s ultra-hot Flamingo Records are due to release “Virual Insanity”, a track with the vocals and lyrics penned by Andy Shearman & Crown.
Away from the studio, Crown has a major presence live, with regular MC gigs alongside the top DJs in the industry. This month he has the honour of performing a track he has written to close top Dutch dance festival Extrema! The track is entitled Rene Amesz ft. Andy Shearman & Crown “Anthem Extrema outdoor 2008”. The performance will be complimented by an amazing visual show by the legendary Geert Huinink, who has worked on spectacular productions with top names including Holland’s biggest ever spinner, Tiesto.
Crown also MC’s alongside the top names in the Dutch scene including the likes of D-Rashid and Hardsoul / DJ Roog.
What a year so far for Crown and what a name to watch in 2008!

Mitch Crown Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
there's nothing in this world i wouldn't dare
look at the sky as i say my prayer
i'm nothing even scared of tyers so big
but in you'r eyes
i see this devil in disguise
is this the truth or a evil lie
i'm not scared but it don't feel right
a
can't trust you no more more
and there's no turning back once our love is gone
look at you now, yes you'll be walking away
i'm screaming in these streets, and just begging to stay
a a a a a this girl is crazy
The lyrics to Mitch Crown's song "Crazy" seem to be about a relationship that has become unstable due to the singer's mistrust of his partner. He starts off by swearing that he is not afraid of anything in the world, even huge tires, and he looks at the sky as he says his prayer. However, when he looks into his partner's eyes, he sees a "devil in disguise". He's not sure if this is the truth or a lie meant to deceive him, but he knows that it feels wrong.
The chorus expresses his mistrust and the feeling that the relationship is beyond repair. He can no longer trust his partner, and once their love is gone, there's no turning back. He watches as she walks away, screaming in the streets and begging her to stay. The last line of the chorus emphasizes the idea that she is crazy.
Overall, the song seems to be about the breakdown of trust in a relationship, where one person's actions have left the other feeling hurt and betrayed. The singer's emotions range from bravado to heartbreak, and the lyrics suggest that he has gone from feeling invincible to feeling vulnerable and powerless.
