He has just entered his twenties, making him seem to be nothing more than a college going guy, yet his music is rocking Bollywood like anything. Mithoon Sharma is one of the current crop of young generation of Bollywood, who are riding the crests of new found creativity in planet Bollywood. Mithoon started out in the Bhatt camp when he was doing the work of incorporating Pakistani music into Indian films. His work on ‘Woh lamhe’ in Zeher had the nation in a frenzy. The song became one of the most popular chartbuster of its times, powered by the awesome lyrics. And when he worked as a guest composer on Bas Ek Pal, and Anwar, there was no looking back for the kiddo. The music recieved appreciation from all places.
The song ‘tere bin’ which he had recorded with Atif Aslam while working on an album with Tips was an unconventional judaai song which touched everyone’s hearts. In fact after Mithoon suggested Onir, the director of the movie Bas Ek Pal, that they should use this song, he was so determined to do so, that he left no stone unturned to get the copyrights of this song from Tips. In fact the song’s lyrics were specially re-crafted by lyricist Sayeed Quadri to fall in the plot exactly as it should be. He had composed two songs for Bas Ek Pal. He was also behind another biggie from the Bhatt camp, ‘aadat’ from Kalyug. And as we all know, the song as well as it’s remixed version, was a big hit with music lovers all across the globe.
According to him, his father is the one who is responsible for every bit of musical success that he has tasted and is gonna taste in the future as well. Mahesh Bhatt had himself approached his father to re-arrange some numbers for his films! In fact , he has also given music for a Malaysian film titled DIVA where he has composed 5 songs and that too in Malay language. Loloq, who is the number one lyricist of Malaysian movies, has written the lyrics. This is the first time ever that a musical collaboration of this kind has happened between India and Malaysia, and Mithoon would also be doing the background score of this movie. The success of ‘woh lamhe’ was the reason behind Mithoom bagging such a project. He doesn’t want himself to be limited to any particular genre though, as he would like to excel in all. It was only after the team of DIVA had listened to his original compositions that he was handed over the CD’s of 20 Malay films, and asked to re-arrange the music. And surprise sursprise, he isn’t bothered much by piracy, as he says that he thinks if his songs are being downloaded free from all the free sites, then it’s a symbol of his success.

Zindagi Ne Zindagibhar Ghum Diye.
The song "Mausam" by Mithoon is a somber reflection on the ups and downs of life. The lyrics speak of the various seasons that life brings, and how they are often filled with pain and sorrow. The opening lines "Zindagi Ne Zindagibhar Ghum Diye" translates to "Life has given us pain all our lives" and sets the tone for the rest of the song. The lyrics reflect on the times when we feel helpless and alone, when even our tears cannot ease our pain. The line "Jab Tadapata Hai Kabhi Apana Koi, Khun Ke Aansu Rula De Bebasi" means "When someone we care for suffers, it brings us to tears of helplessness".
The song talks about how life can be cruel and unfair, and despite our best efforts, we may not be able to find the healing we need. The lines "Ji Ke Phir Karana Kya Mujhko Aisi Jindagi, Jisane Jakhmon Ko Nahi Marham Diye" means "What is the point of living a life that has not healed our wounds?". The song also touches on themes of betrayal and deceit, and how sometimes people we thought were close to us turn out to be strangers. The lyric "Apane Bhi Pesh Aaye Hamase Ajnabee, Waqt Ki Saajish Koi Samajha Nahi" speaks to this theme.
