Motivações e explicações
Depois de tanto palmilhar
Desvios e bifurcações
Da proa desta embarcação
Consigo interpretar, enfim
A carta de navegação
Que o mar traçou dentro de mim
A previsão sombria
Assim se dissipou
Aquela Estrela Guia
Do céu me orientou
Milhões de milhas naveguei
Nem sempre ventos a favor
Mas afinal reencontrei
O cais da paz interior
Mas afinal reencontrei
O cais da paz interior
In Moacir Santos's song Coisa No 10, the singer reflects on his journey of self-discovery and finding inner peace. The lyrics describe the singer's search for motivation and explanation, which took him on a winding path with many detours and forks in the road. However, he eventually reaches a point where he can interpret the navigation chart that his life's journey has plotted for him. The singer attributes his newfound clarity to a guiding star that dissipated the prior gloomy forecast.
Throughout the song, the singer uses nautical metaphors to describe his personal journey, stating that he has sailed millions of miles facing headwinds and unfavorable circumstances. Yet, he manages to rediscover the tranquility of his heart and soul symbolized by finding the harbor of inner peace once again.
Coisa No 10 is not only a song but also an entire album, which includes ten tracks that blend Brazilian and North American jazz music. Moacir Santos, the composer of Coisa No 10, was a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist and composer, regarded as one of the most influential Brazilian musicians. He had a significant impact on Bossa Nova music, and his innovative arrangements have influenced generations of Brazilian musicians.

If Duke Ellington had decided to visit Rio and become immersed with the music, this is what he would have composed. A gigantic work, tragically underplayed.
Evann Freak
definitly... i'm think Moacir Santos is like a Coltrane for Brazil rs
Raul Souza
@Evann Freak I think it's more like Duke, because Moacir wasn't an improvisation freak like Coltrane (don't take that in the bad way, I love Coltrane), he was more of a composer with very clear goals in his music, like Ellington.
