2. I Love To Move In Here
Moby Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I love to move here...
I love to move in here [Repeat: x 2]
Break

I love to move here...
I love to move in here [Repeat: x 2]

Okay
This is how its gonna go
Y'all gonna move 'till ya cant no more
The d.j gonna pick up records 'till his hands are sore

The lights are gonna flash
For grand master cash
Gonna kick it to you like you never heard before
The place is here
The time is now

All the fellas say ho
All the ladies say ow.
Put your two hands together
To form a soul clap
And jump back never see you ride the track

It ain't black or white
It's about the beat
If you can't rack the mic
It's about the heat

You say what you're like
When I'm about to speak
And nobody wanna hear you anyway
So keep it moving girl (girl)
So old school taking it back
And we ain't leaving
Till we stop breathing

Even if the music stops
We continue to groove
Nice and smooth
Because we want y'all to move

I love to move here...
I love to move in here
X2

I love to move in here [Repeat: x 7]
Old school takin' it back again [Repeat x 12]

I love to move here...
I love to move in here [Repeat: x 4]

Old school takin' it back again [Repeat: x 8]

I love to move here...
I love to move in here

Overall Meaning

Moby's "I Love To Move In Here" is a lively, up-tempo dance track that encourages listeners to dance until they can no longer move. The song begins with an infectious synth melody and Moby's repeated "I love to move here... I love to move in here" hook layered over a pounding kick drum. The lyrics of the song use repetitive, chant-like phrases to invite listeners to dance along with the beat.

The second part of the song builds on this invitation to dance. Moby implores the crowd to "put your two hands together to form a soul clap" and "jump back never see you ride the track." He also makes reference to "grand master cash" and other old school hip-hop legends who inspired him to create this track. This nostalgic throwback to classic hip-hop is an important part of the song's appeal.

Overall, "I Love To Move In Here" is a fun and upbeat dance track that celebrates the power of music to bring people together and inspire them to move their bodies. The song's catchy hook and driving beat make it impossible not to dance along, and its nods to old school hip-hop add an extra layer of nostalgia to the experience.

So true. Most club scenes are SO badly done it's embarrassing but that was spot on. Joakim Phoenix is possibly the greatest actor of his generation, what a film. Top record.

@hammies.

hahaah joakim

@ranggaleonard454

Who is joakim ?

@qp12qp

Yeah, I too discovered this song in that movie, it was then when I first appreciated both Joakim Phoenix and Moby. I was watching the movie on a 90" projector screen with large speakers at high volume, and the sound in the club scene was so realistic, it was filling the house along with the visuals like I was there... pure ecstasy! Cudos to Gwyneth Paltrow too and to the filmmaker of course, best club scene ever!
