One Of These Mornings
Moby Lyrics

One of these mornings
Won't be very long
You will look for me
And I'll be gone

One of these mornings
Won't be very long
You will look for me
And I'll be gone

One of these mornings
Won't be very long
You will look for me
And I'll be gone

One of these mornings
(One of these mornings)
Won't be very long
(Won't be very long)
You will look for me
(You will look for me)
And I'll be gone
(And I'll be gone)

And I'll be gone
And I'll be gone
And I'll be gone
And I'll be gone
And I'll be gone
And I'll be gone
You will look for me
And I'll be gone
And I'll be gone
You will look for me
And I'll be gone
And I'll be gone
You will look for me
And I'll be gone
And I'll be gone
You will look for me

One of these mornings
Won't be very long

You will look for me
And I'll be gone

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Moby's song "One of These Mornings" paint a picture of a person who is anticipating a departure from a relationship or a situation. The "one of these mornings" mentioned in the chorus is referring to the time in the future when the person will no longer be present in the relationship or situation.

The repetition of the chorus throughout the song emphasizes the inevitability of the departure. The phrase "won't be very long" suggests that the departure is imminent, and the phrase "you will look for me" implies that the person leaving is aware of the impact their departure will have on the other party.

The use of the phrase "And I'll be gone" at the end of each chorus reinforces the idea that the separation is inevitable and final. The use of simple language and repetition helps to convey the emotional weight of the situation.

Overall, the song "One of These Mornings" is a poignant reflection on the moment when a relationship or situation comes to an end. The lyrics are a reminder that even the most meaningful connections may not last forever and that we must be prepared for the inevitable changes that life brings.

I heard this song years ago while watching an episode of Without A Trace. It struck a chord deep in my heart and I've never forgotten it. Today has been a difficult day. I'm missing my Pops, my brothers, the only man I ever truly loved (deceased) and too many family and friends to name. My Pops and my brothers all died on the morning. I'm 67 now and my Mom turns 96 next month. I don't know how much time I have with her, but when she leaves I'll be the last member of the family I grew up with (Pops, Mom, 3 brothers). I thank God daily for the time I've had with each of them and for my daughter, grandson and son in law. Blessings all.

Life is so ironic that we listen to sad music to feel better

@sloponyblues

We listen to sad songs not to feel better, but as a communal shared suffering of loss , to know that we are not alone in our heartache
