The first time I watched this music video, it was back in July 2006 in Brazil and I was 10. It was the first time I connected to a music video and a song, even though I didn't know English at the time. I had no idea it was NYC, but I felt their isolation and desire for communication. 10 years later, I found myself walking down 5th avenue in Manhattan listening to this song. I've gone through 4 phones, 3 mp3 players, a CD walkman or two, and at least 2 laptops in the last 8 years. The only thing all of them had in common, was that they were all full of Moby.
There's not another artist i can say that about. It just dawned on me, that that's a pretty good indicator that Moby is indeed my favorite recording artist.

I'm relieved to know that I'm not the only one that cries while seeing this video. MTV used to play this video in 2002 if I'm not wrong and it made me feel upset and I couldn't understand why. Maybe I just felt empathy for those little creatures that are completely ignored by humans, they desperately want to communicate, create a relation with them and be noticed and the more they get ignored the sadder I feel. Even though I cried harder when Moby waved to them (a sign of hope). Not to mention the minuscule "dog", he's too lovely and the soulful voice of this singer. Whoever directed this video is a genius.

2022, remembering the dark place i was at all those years ago. Listening to this song on repeat, smoking cigarettes, looking out from a balcony in a apartment complex that will forever hold big trauma in my teens as a lost and confused girl. No parental guidance, drugs, bad criminal men, i had given up a long time ago there for any hope. I was just waiting for death. Today I'm happy, married and a many years of therapy and other people around me. I'm still scared of the world for Innocent kids, the world is so cruel. I'm thankful i got to the point I'm at. one of my favorite clip / song in childhood. it was constantly shown on mtv, and I always watched and listened from start to finish (because there was no internet and it was impossible to listen to it at other times). when I remembered her as a teenager (and the internet appeared) - I cried while watching

almost 19 years have passed, life turned upside down, but I still listen and love this song, although it is perceived in a completely different way 👽

This video made me think as a kid how insignificant my existence was “IN THIS WORLD” an existential crisis that will persists untill the end of humanity.

As an adult it just brings memories with sadness and emptiness inside, how time, society, technology, and the entire world will not wait for you to make sense of this world.
Moby provoked so many feelings with his music, he is truly a genius.

Correction: I don`t know why, but sometimes I feel so lonely, invisible and miserable as the little sweet aliens do...Every time I listen to this beautiful song tender teardrops fall from my eyes and I start crying.
