The song “Secret” by Modes starts off with the singer stating that their secret garden is not so secret anymore. The singer feels dejected and pathetic, much like a child would feel. They cannot believe that their private secret has been leaked. The singer runs away from the house, holding their head in their hands, and reaches the edge of the water. However, they know that they cannot stay long, as the person who leaked their secret is coming after them. They have to keep running, and they cannot see the fun in their secret garden not being secret anymore.
In the next part of the song, the singer mentions how it was so easy earlier, and how their loved one used to search for hours among the flowers, while the singer continued to play the fool and act so cruel, eventually loving them for it. The song ends with the singer repeating how absurd it seems that their secret is not a secret anymore, and how they had to go and leak it.
