A lot of Dev Anand's classics were by Rafi Saab so you cannot be categoric about it. If he preferred Kishore as you put it, why did Rafi sing hundreds of times for him? Especially as he had his own studios, Navketan and was also a producer and director...It wasn't as if Kishore Da sang for anyone else.
So you agree he got old, which is why I'm saying he should not be having ridiculous pairings with 16-20 year starlets...doesn't help with the film credibility, if nothing else.
Everything is not bad now. Im not talking about life generally but Indian Cinema when the Golden Age was the 50s and 60s.

Also you've gone off about skin colour for some reason, LOL! He was understood to have modelled himself on Gregory Peck. Just saying that he was a talented dashing hero then, when he was at his best.
If you prefer loud music, that's up to you. Rafi could go fast and loud if he wanted: Junglee, Prince, Jab Jab Phool Khile, An Evening in Paris, Farz, Ye Duniya Ye Mehfil and Jat Yamla Pagla songs... too many to mention. I prefer a soft voice..you describe it as small, but no bias in your post, right? In the duet in 'Heer Ranjha', Rafi's voice goes down to a whispering level... the two lovers are meeting at night. Lata can't achieve the same whispering softness. In contrast, listen to the electric opening of the duet 'Dil Tera Diwana Hai Sanam', or the Aya Saawan Jhoom Ke duet, where the crescendo alternates and finishes with Rafi and not Lata's voice. Or the crescendo of O Duniya ke Rakhwale.
You can have your big music and put on your white disco suit, no problem.
