Mohit Chauhan Lyrics

Raate Surang Si
Waadi Udaan Pe Hi Na Jaane Kyun
Ilahi Mera Jee Aaye Aaye
Ilahi Mera Jee Aaye Aaye
Kal Pe Sawaal Hai Jeena Filhaal Hai
Khaana Badoshiyon Pe Hi Jaane Kyun
Ilahi Mera Jee Aaye Aaye
Mera Falsafaa Kandhe Pe Mera Basta
Chala Main Jahaan Le Chala Mujhe Rasta
Boondon Pe Nahin
Boondon Ke Samandar Pe
Ilahi Mera Jee Aaye Aaye
Ilahi Mera Jee Aaye Aaye
Shaame Malang Si
Raate Surang Si
Waadi Udaan Pe Hi Na Jaane Kyun
Ilahi Mera Jee Aaye Aaye
Ilahi Mera Jee Aaye Aaye
The lyrics of Mohit Chauhan's Ilahi describe the feeling of being lost in the beauty of nature and the desire to explore the unknown. The first verse mentions the evening and night-time, comparing them to a carefree and wild state of being, represented by the terms "malang" and "surang". The second line mentions a valley and the feeling of flying over it, highlighting the desire for adventure and exploration. The chorus, "Ilahi mera jee aaye aaye," translates to "god, my heart longs and aches," expressing the overwhelming desire to pursue one's dreams and passions.
The second verse raises questions about the purpose of life and why we spend our time doing mundane tasks such as cooking and eating, instead of exploring the world around us. The word "badoshiyon" translates to "wanderers" or "nomads", further emphasizing the idea of adventure and the desire to explore. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the intense longing and desire to follow one's heart.
The third verse is a more personal statement about the singer's own philosophy and journey. He carries his beliefs and possessions with him, and he is constantly searching for a path to follow. The use of "boondon" (droplets) and "samandar" (sea) juxtaposes the smallness of the individual with the vastness of the world, further emphasizing the desire for exploration and connection to something greater.
Overall, the lyrics of Ilahi express the desire for freedom, adventure, and the pursuit of passion and purpose.
