The follow up, Creature, was released in 1996 to even greater success, with the band's sound maturing and fostering its softer side. A final studio album titled Mercedes 5 and Dime was released in 1999 which was softer and more melancholic than previous releases.

Moist Lyrics

Your Christ has come
The crippled boy that you once knew
The charmed enigma
Chosen one with painted lips
Skin ripped and torn
Come touch and feel and lick and smell
This envy that I've worn so well
Everybody says
Everybody begs in time
So drink me in
Like tainted wine
Come bite down on my sharpened cup
And taste the dreams that numb the mind
A simple word
A harmless glare
That binds me with the thinnest thread
And pins me down to pleasure's bed
Everybody wants
Everybody says
Everybody begs
In time
And you will be the first to fall
Every feeling will dissolve
We are silver
Morphine baby's final breath
Ever smothered to my chest
We are silver
So shy and poised with few regrets
A Judas kill
A complex thrill
A memory I won't soon forget
Been washed out clean till all runs dry
Come touch and feel and lick and smell
A hurt that only you could sell
Everybody wants
Everybody says
Everybody begs in time
And you will be the first to fall
Every feeling will dissolve
We are silver
Morphine baby's final breath
Smothered to my breast
We are silver
Trip sister I will follow you this time
Knowing I will follow you
Everybody wants
Everybody says
Everybody begs in time
And you will be the first to fall
Every feeling will dissolve
We are silver
Morphine baby's final breath
Ever smothered to your breast
We are silver, silver
(Silver) we are silver
Silver, silver
We are silver
The song “Silver” by Moist is a dark and seductive anthem about the allure of addiction. Throughout the lyrics, the singer is personifying addiction as a lover with whom he has a twisted relationship. The song starts with the lines “So, close your eyes / Your Christ has come,” which can be interpreted as the singer urging the listener to abandon all hope and give in to the allure of addiction. Throughout the song, the singer alternates between describing the physical sensations of addiction and the twisted emotional connection he has with it. The lyrics “Come touch and feel and lick and smell / This envy that I’ve worn so well” paints a picture of addiction as a physical manifestation of envy and the singer as someone who thrives on it.
The lyrics “And you will be the first to fall / Every feeling will dissolve / We are silver / Morphine baby's final breath / The ever-smothered to my chest” describe the danger and the finality of addiction. The singer is warning the listener that once they give in, they will be consumed, and addiction will become their final breath. “Silver” is a powerful and poignant song that delves deep into the psyche of addiction and its alluring but ultimately dangerous nature.

So, close your eyes
Forget everything else and focus on me
Your Christ has come
I am the savior you've been waiting for
The crippled boy that you once knew
I once appeared weak, but now I am powerful
The charmed enigma
I am mysterious and beguiling
Chosen one with painted lips
I am remarkable and unique, with a striking appearance
Skin ripped and torn
I have been through pain and suffering, and I wear it as a badge of honor
Come touch and feel and lick and smell
Experience me with all of your senses
This envy that I've worn so well
Others are envious of me, but I wear it confidently
Everybody wants
Everyone desires me
Everybody says
Everyone talks about me
Everybody begs in time
Everyone eventually wants me or is under my control
So drink me in
Take me into yourself
Like tainted wine
I have something dark and addictive to offer
Come bite down on my sharpened cup
Experience pain and pleasure simultaneously
And taste the dreams that numb the mind
Experience a surreal state of mind
A simple word
A fleeting, insignificant moment
A harmless glare
A look that is harmless but penetrating
That binds me with the thinnest thread
Something almost invisible has me in its grasp
And pins me down to pleasure's bed
I am trapped by pleasure and cannot escape it
And you will be the first to fall
You will succumb to my power first
Every feeling will dissolve
You will be consumed by me completely
We are silver
We are special and valuable
Morphine baby's final breath
I am seductive and dangerous
Ever smothered to my chest
I hold you tightly and have complete control over you
So shy and poised with few regrets
I am reserved and self-assured
A Judas kill
An unexpected betrayal
A complex thrill
Something dangerous and exciting
A memory I won't soon forget
You will be unable to forget our encounter
Been washed out clean till all runs dry
I have cleansed myself of negative emotions and experiences
Trip sister I will follow you this time
I will follow you into an altered state of consciousness
Knowing I will follow you
I am willing and eager to follow
We are silver, silver
We are unique and valuable
We are silver
We are something special

@jbbya6040
Somehow I have ended up down this rabbit hole of 90s Canadian bands that I haven't listed to since the 90s (Moist, The Tea Party, etc.). As I was singing loudly along to the songs, I just now realized how much brain space is currently taken up by music I listened to when I was a teen. I forget why I walked into a room, but I can remember every frame of this video.
@Gregb0t3000
I've just seen this comment while in the depths of the rabbit hole myself. This is exactly what I'm thinking too. It's like I just saw this yesterday.
@scottwclowry6862
Sounds like a good hole.
@dodgecity8304
Somehow I now feel more connected to everyone else by reading your comments and relating and understanding more about us being in this together, by knowing that there are others feeling the same way I feel. Always have a goal! Old Crow Yukon .
@deanh9263
It's a fantastic trip to take.
@SC-oh9ol
Jbb Ya...you just defined the 90s.An entire decade of bands no one has listened to since the 90s.Does anyone remember Kurt Nobrain anymore? Or Shannon Hoon? Ya me neither.
@crushknight4227
One of my favorite Canadian bands of the 90s. Wicked!!!!
@glennbeadshaw727
As far as I'm concerned I'd be happy to see them outlive The Rolling Stones
@alukuhito
I'm actually SO old that I remember this song being on the radio. At least alternative radio in Canada.
@ellzedd4113
Yes the end of the hair metal! This was like a fresh breath of air 😂
