In 2008, they entered the studio to record their debut album “Lantai Merah”. Their pre-release single from the album, “Merah that distributed freely on the Internet was received with high acclaims from fans, generating 8,000 downloads in the first three months alone.
When “Lantai Merah” finally released on May 2009, Expectations are already mounting and the album was very much hailed by fans and the media as one of the best albums of the year so far, thanks to their catchy and quality songs, vast improvement in their musicality and their unique lyrical approaches.

The lyrics of Monkey to Millionaire's song "Ego" tells the story of a person who wants to be accepted by a group of people who seem to have it all - they are always laughing, friendly, and have no apparent flaws or sins. The persona slowly starts to befriend them and wants to be like them, but as they become closer, it is revealed that they are as smart and as similar as the group, and their ego rises above all others. However, as they realize this, they also discover that they are just like the people they idolized and put on a pedestal - they have the same flaws and skills, and they are no better or worse. Despite this realization, the persona is already too far gone and is unable to keep up with their new, elevated status. They are left alone, vulnerable, and shattered.
