Dancing With the Devil
Mono Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I was blind to see
I was risking my life
At the edge of the time
I was loosing my mind

No one else to find
I was feeling so lonely and I
I gave myself to the dark
'Cause I was looking for my light

You can call me insane
But I call it an insight
You can say whatever
But I'm dancing with the devil

You can call me insane
But I call it an insight
You can say whatever
But I'm dancing with the devil

De - de - de - de - vil
De - de - de - de - vil

Once I felt so week
I needed the streght to don't give up
I was so high and I see
That someone came for me that night

She turns all the ligths out
And embraced my sould so tight
She said "this is one in a lifetime"
That was the best that ever happend in my life

You can think that I'm insane
But I needed it inside out
You can say whatever
But I'm dancing with the devil

You can think that I'm insane
But I needed it inside out
You can say whatever
But I'm dancing with the devil

But I'm dancing with the devil

De - de - de - de - vil
De - de - de - de - vil

So you must see
She is so demanding
She can set me free
But then, she can kill me

You can call me insane
But I call it an insight
You can say whatever
But I'm dancing with the devil

You can think that I'm insane
But I needed it inside out

You can say whatever
But I'm dancing with the devil

Overall Meaning

In “Dancing with the Devil,” Mono reflects on a time when he was struggling and found solace in embracing the darkness to find his light. He had been feeling lonely and on the edge of losing his mind when he was drawn to the darkness as a way of finding himself. He acknowledges that others may view him as insane for exploring this often taboo side of life but to him, it was an insight. He then calls on the devil as a way to explore this darkness and to find his strength.

In the second verse, he describes how he met someone who was able to offer him the support he needed when he was feeling weak. With the lights out, they embraced him and he felt as though this was the best thing that had ever happened to him. Even though he may be seen as insane for dancing with the devil, he doesn’t regret it as it has helped him to find himself and to feel whole again.
