Monotonix have performed across the world and their performances are very energetic, verging on performance art. From lighting drums on fire, to hanging from ceiling fixtures, often heavily crowd-involved, no performance in the same city is like the last.
On their American tour, Monotonix opened for the Silver Jews on the west coast playing to thousands of people in cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles. The band also toured the States and Europe in 2006 playing with artists such as Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, Oneida, Calvin Johnson, The Thermals, Kimya Dawson (Moldy Peaches), Old Time Relijun, Federation X, Birds of Avalon, Now It's Overhead and many more.
Monotonix have recorded their debut full length in Tel-Aviv with producer Kramer (Daniel Johnston, Low, Pussy Galore, Butthole Surfers), in 2006.

The lick at 3:17 is 100 percent from a mother song as a virtually identical lick appears in both clairos "sofia" and the strokes "you only live once" however sofia only has the part that appears at 1:39 and you only live once features the same lick as the 3:30 part. I dont see a version of events where these 3 separate artists acquired this chord progression independently. Please help me if you learn any new information

The few times I saw these guys live were all at the Asbury Lanes ... At one show in particular... as the guitarist was playing on top of Mrs PAC Man ... the singer Ami set Snack World on fire and the drummer suddenly ran into the woman's bathroom so the guitarist either in awe of the flames or thrown of by the loss of rhythm from the drums stopping fell off the arcade cabinet and kept the beat by smacking the shit out of his guitar strings as the drummer came out of the woman's bathroom and dumped a full garbage can on a guy who was being a dick all evening... good times... I'm only sorry that these guys never co-headlined with Hunchback at the Lanes.
