Monty Are I Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Cause I am sure I've learned my lesson, from the anger, to the loneliness, the bliss.
A sudden change results in apathy. I couldn't let me fall apart.
Because with time comes understanding, with understanding comes a change of heart.
I swear you're running cause you've lost the hope. it's true.
Pack your bags and leave. lose all respect for where you're from.
I can't rely on the divine in the blueprints.
If you return it's cause you realized you're wrong.
If nothing else rely on sounds of the lighthouse,
Cause it brings you back to the sea.
I swear you're running cause you've lost the hope. it's true.
Just anchor and hope. have faith in your home.
You'll find redemption in your home. You're always looking for more.
The chance to open the doors is here. be patient. Know that I'm sure it's coming.
In "Anchor And Hope," Monty Are I invites the listener to reflect on the importance of staying true to oneself and never losing hope. The opening line, "Struck with discontent, but I could not abandon this," sets the tone for the song, as the writer expresses a feeling of dissatisfaction but acknowledges the impossibility of giving up on their goals. The following lines read, "Cause I am sure I've learned my lesson, from the anger, to the loneliness, the bliss," indicating that the writer has been through difficult times, but it has served as a learning opportunity.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the theme of hopelessness, with the lines "I swear you're running cause you've lost the hope. it's true. Pack your bags and leave. lose all respect for where you're from." However, the writer suggests that instead of giving up, one should "Just anchor and hope. have faith in your home. You'll find redemption in your home." The lyrics encourage the listener to believe in themselves and their place in the world.
The song also speaks to the importance of relying on one's understanding and personal growth. The line, "Because with time comes understanding, with understanding comes a change of heart," suggests that sometimes embracing change can lead to new perspectives and a better attitude towards life. The reference to the "sounds of the lighthouse" towards the end of the song further underscores the significance of relying on oneself and one's surroundings to navigate life's challenges.
