The Live at Leeds EP (Arista) followed in 1994 (with artwork styled after the Who's Live at Leeds), and in 1997, the group released Psychedelicatessen (Arista/BMG). Showbiz was a member of Moodswings up until the album Horizontal, which Hood solo-produced (Varèse Sarabande, 2002). Julee Cruise sings vocals on two tracks from Horizontal: "Seems to Remind Me (Of Love)" and "Into the Blue." Hood contributed "Storm in a Teacup" from the same album for the 2005 documentary Do You Believe? Another World is Possible.

State Of Independence by Moodswings is made of 3 parts. Spiritual High on Pretenders' CD Greatest Hits is the second part.
Sounds like a signal from you
Bring me to meet your sound
And I will bring you to my heart
Love like a signal you call
Touching my body my soul
Bring to me, you to meet me here
Home be the temple of your heart
Home be the body of your love
Just like Holy water to my lips
Yes I do know how I survive
Yes I do know why I'm alive
To love and be with you
Day by day by day by day
Time, time again, it is said
We will hear, we will see
See it all-in his wisdom-hear
His truth will abound the land
This truth will abound the land
This State of independence shall be
This State of independence shall be
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
Love like a signal you call
Touching my body my soul
Bring to me, you to meet me here
Home be the temple of your heart
Home be the body of your love
Just like Holy water to my lips
Hey
Yes I do know how I survive
Yes I do know why I'm alive
To love and be with you
Day by day by day by day
Time, time again, it is said
We will hear, we will see
See it all-in his wisdom-hear
His truth will abound the land
This truth will abound the land
This State of independence shall be
This State of independence shall be
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
This State of independence shall be
His truth will abound the land
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
The lyrics to Spiritual High State of Independence by Moodswings and Chrissie Hynde are a beautiful ode to love and togetherness. The song begins with a metaphor of love being like a signal that brings two people together. The lyrics then go on to describe the importance of home as the temple of the heart and the body of love. Love is compared to holy water, which sustains and uplifts the soul. The chorus repeats the phrase 'Time, time again, it is said, we will hear, we will see, see it all-in his wisdom-hear, his truth will abound the land' - this could suggest the importance of patience and trust in love in order to reach a state of emotional independence. The song ends with the repeated phrase 'This State of independence shall be' which emphasizes the idea that love can lead to a joyous sense of liberation and independence.
Overall, the lyrics to Spiritual High State of Independence by Moodswings and Chrissie Hynde paint an uplifting and inspiring picture of love, centering on themes such as togetherness, the heart, the soul and the importance of patience and trust. The repeated chorus acts as a reminder that reaching a state of emotional independence is worth striving for in a relationship.

Lost in my memory for twenty years, now hearing it for the first time in two decades. It's bringing a lot of memories from college flooding back. Thanks for posting. Oooow it's nostalgia time.

First heard this from The film "Single White Female" and was immediately gripped. There was a sector of early nineties music that had that atmospheric chilled sound and I remember it all especially from the films at that time, such a shame how there's no little side genres like that anymore, no artists with balls n originality like "Enigma" . Maybe this makes then all the more cool?!
