The Live at Leeds EP (Arista) followed in 1994 (with artwork styled after the Who's Live at Leeds), and in 1997, the group released Psychedelicatessen (Arista/BMG). Showbiz was a member of Moodswings up until the album Horizontal, which Hood solo-produced (Varèse Sarabande, 2002). Julee Cruise sings vocals on two tracks from Horizontal: "Seems to Remind Me (Of Love)" and "Into the Blue." Hood contributed "Storm in a Teacup" from the same album for the 2005 documentary Do You Believe? Another World is Possible.

State Of Independence by Moodswings is made of 3 parts. Spiritual High on Pretenders' CD Greatest Hits is the second part.
Sounds like a signal from you
Bring me to meet your sound
And I will bring you to my heart
Love like a signal you call
Touching my body my soul
Bring to me, you to meet me here
Home be the temple of your heart
Home be the body of your love
Just like Holy water to my lips
Yes I do know how I survive
Yes I do know why I'm alive
To love and be with you
Day by day by day by day
Time, time again, it is said
We will hear, we will see
See it all-in his wisdom-hear
His truth will abound the land
This truth will abound the land
This State of independence shall be
This State of independence shall be
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
Love like a signal you call
Touching my body my soul
Bring to me, you to meet me here
Home be the temple of your heart
Home be the body of your love
Just like Holy water to my lips
Hey
Yes I do know how I survive
Yes I do know why I'm alive
To love and be with you
Day by day by day by day
Time, time again, it is said
We will hear, we will see
See it all-in his wisdom-hear
His truth will abound the land
This truth will abound the land
This State of independence shall be
This State of independence shall be
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
This State of independence shall be
His truth will abound the land
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
(Hey, hey Yayah yaya oh)
The lyrics of "Spiritual High" by Moodswings Feat. Chrissie Hynde are all about love and the connection between two people. The song begins with the idea of a signal, which can be interpreted as a sign of love, that brings two people together. The song talks about the power of love and how it touches both the body and the soul. The lyrics paint a picture of two people meeting in a place that feels like home and how they are brought together by the power of love. The words "Home be the temple of your heart, Home be the body of your love" suggest that love is not just a feeling but a physical thing that can be felt in the body.
The chorus of the song repeats the words "This State Of Independence shall be," which can be seen as a reference to the idea that love brings freedom and independence into our lives. The lyrics suggest that love is powerful enough to transcend time and that it can bring us closer to divine wisdom. The words "his truth will abound the land" suggest that there is a higher truth that can be found through love. The song ends with a repetition of the idea that "This State of Independence shall be," which reinforces the idea that love is a force that can give us freedom and independence in our lives.

I have one of the original 1000 copies, I heard it on Annie Nightingale's legendary early morning (after the clubs close!) Chill out zone radio show.
There were 2 problems.
Firstly a limited pressing isn't going to create a hit.
Secondly, at that stage, someone correct me if I'm wrong, not all the permissions had been sorted for the (many) samples on this epic track.
Its amazing that it was picked up and used in the soundtrack to Single White Female, that's when Chrissie Hind got on board.
And Kirk and the Enterprise got dropped.
Who today would put Dr Martin Luther King and William Shatner on the same record?
Modern artists really don't know the meaning of breaking the mold.
