The band released their third full length album, Mountains Beaches Cities, via BMG on September 10th, 2013. Moon Taxi has previously toured with Matisyahu, and White Denim. Spinnin' out of control
You can find someone around you
To bring you out of the cold
But you don't ever have to hide
What you really feel inside
So put 'em up
We can walk together with our hands up in the sky
So put 'em up
Tonight
We can come together
We won't give up on the fight
Woah-ooh
So put 'em up
Put 'em up
Two high
Sometimes it's hard to tell
What we're really living for
Hear the voices calling out from the streets
Singin' get ready
Get ready for more
Singin' get ready
Get ready for more now
So put 'em up
Two high
We can walk together with our hands up in the sky
So put 'em up
Tonight
We can come together
We won't give up on the fight
Woah-ooh
So put 'em up
Put 'em up
Two high
Put 'em up
Put 'em up
Two high
Before we're gone
Keep holding on
Keep holding on
And put 'em up
Two high
We can walk together with our hands up in the sky
So put 'em up
Tonight
We can come together
We won't give up on the fight
So put 'em up
Two high
We can walk together with our hands up in the sky
So put 'em up
Tonight
We can come together
We won't give up on the fight
Woah
Put 'em up
Two high
Put 'em up
Woah
Put 'em up
Two high
Moon Taxi's song Two High is an uplifting and optimistic song about finding strength and hope in the midst of chaos and uncertainty. The song encourages listeners to come together in unity and solidarity, to put their hands up in the sky, and to never give up on fighting for what they believe in. The chorus "put 'em up, two high" serves as a powerful rallying cry for this message.
The opening lines of the song speak to the feelings of overwhelm and helplessness that can arise in difficult times, and the importance of seeking out support and connection to stay grounded. However, the lyrics also urge listeners to be authentic and true to themselves in expressing their emotions, without feeling the need to hide or suppress them. This message of vulnerability and strength in community is further emphasized by the repeated refrain to "put 'em up" and come together.
The song's verse speaks to the sense of purpose and determination that can arise from challenging circumstances, and the importance of staying focused on what truly matters. The pre-chorus amplifies this message, with a call to action to prepare for the future and rise to meet whatever comes our way.
Overall, Two High is a powerful and moving song that speaks to the resilience and hopefulness of the human spirit, and the importance of coming together in solidarity during difficult times.
