Moon Taxi Lyrics

Strut like the sun. All night long. Down the city streets and singin' songs. Before I get too old, or die before my day At the top of my lungs you'll here me say
Whiskey sunsets. An extra pack of cigarettes. I know that I'm gonna be up all night I know that I'm gonna be up all night
By and by I thank the sky For lending an ear to hear me cryin' out And it's just us two But it rings true somehow And I know I'm not the only one who sings about those.
Whiskey sunsets. An extra pack of cigarettes. I know that I'm gonna be up all night I know that I'm gonna be up all night
Drink it in, oh drink it in Feel the shine upon your skin. Drink it in, oh drink it in Get ready for the night to begin With those.
Whiskey sunsets. An extra pack of cigarettes. I know that I'm gonna be up all night
In Moon Taxi's song "Whiskey Sunsets", the lyrics invite the listener to embrace life and live in the moment. The opening lines "Howl at the moon" and "Strut like the sun" suggest that the singer is living life to the fullest, like an American wolf or the sun itself. The lines "You know that this time just might be the last time" and "If everything you know, goes away one day" suggest an awareness of the transience of life and the need to appreciate each moment.
The chorus of the song is repeated throughout the track, featuring the lyric "Whiskey sunsets. An extra pack of cigarettes. I know that I'm gonna be up all night." The focus on whiskey, cigarettes, and a night spent awake evoke a feeling of rebelliousness and living on the edge. The bridge of the song expresses gratitude to the sky, suggesting a spiritual aspect to the singer's experience. The final lines "And I know I'm not the only one who sings about those" suggest the universality of the themes of the song.
Overall, "Whiskey Sunsets" is a song that encourages the listener to live life fully, even in the face of its fleeting nature. The song conveys a sense of appreciation for the moment, and a desire to soak up every last drop of life's experiences.
