Moose Blood Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
for all the boys who think they're cool
but then I never, ever thought about
taking anyone else home but you.
You've got your best shoes on
you're wearing too much perfume, it doesn't suit you
I like you better with just your t-shirt on.
you're wearing too much perfume, it doesn't suit you
I like you better with just my t-shirt on.
Move on over baby, you're not close enough for me girl
and we both know it's true
Move on over baby, I want your hands all over my stomach
your lips all over my chest and neck
Move on over baby, you're not close enough for me girl
and we both know it's true
Move on over baby, I want your hands all over my stomach
your lips all over my chest and neck
The song "Orlando" by Moose Blood is a track about a young couple's intense attraction and love for each other. The lyrics begin with the singer expressing his disinterest in the accessories and clothing that his partner wears to impress others. He disregards the opinions of others and indicates that he only desires to go home with his significant other. The couple clearly has a closeness with each other that overrides superficial judgement from outsiders.
The chorus repeats the sentiment of appreciating the beauty of his partner without all the added frills and adornments. The singer mentions that he likes his partner better when she is casual, wearing only his t-shirt. The next verse, however, takes a more sensual turn. The singer expresses his desire for his partner to come closer and be more intimate with him. He uses language that describes his partner's hands on his stomach and their lips on his chest and neck. These lyrics reveal the strong physical attraction that exists between the couple.
Overall, "Orlando" is a song that speaks to the intensity of attraction and desire between two people. The lyrics emphasize the importance of genuine, authentic closeness with a partner over superficial judgments and adornments.
