Born and raised in Santa Rosa, California, Reid showed undoubting musical talent at a very early age. He has a deep love for the piano, an instrument he began to pursue at the age of four. Over the years he has developed a talent for guitar, bass, mandolin, ukulele, synths and drums, among many other percussive instruments. As he grew up he was exposed to his mother’s love of Top 40 hits as well as his father’s passion for classic rock bands such as The Beatles and Eagles. This exposure led him at the mere age of eleven to dabble in a bit of songwriting of his own.
Nowadays, as a multitalented singer, songwriter, record producer and musician, Reid has his own recording studio and is primarily based in Los Angeles. Reid worked with internationally renowned record producer RedOne (Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Pit Bull) to write and produce songs for 7LIONS (2101 Records/Universal Music Group), a band who was signed to RedOne’s record label in 2011. Reid produced 7LIONS’ debut EP Born 2 Run which was released on June 19, 2012 featuring the single “Born 2 Run” produced by Reid and RedOne. Reid has written and produced songs for several other artists including Plug In Stereo (Atlantic Records) who’s singer-songwriter/pop album, The Patience EP, was produced by Reid and released on January 3, 2012. Shane Harper (Deep Well Records/Universal Music Group) is another artist whose self titled album features five tracks produced by Reid, including an updated cover of the classic 80‘s hit “Your Love.” Harper released his album exclusively at TARGET on February 14, 2012 through the label Deep Well Records owned by Adam Anders, record producer and creator of the hit television show GLEE (FOX). While Reid continues to produce music for many artists his main passion is writing and performing his own music.
The best way to experience the raw talent of Morgan Taylor Reid is to see his live solo performances. He has an incredible ability to captivate his audience with intricate acoustic guitar melodies, fast fingered piano skills and bright, soulful vocals. Reid's debut solo album Simply Human reveals the mellow singer-songwriter side of Reid, this heartfelt acoustic style EP has gotten Reid a lot of media attention, his song “Stay Where You Are” was used for a Levi's Jeans Campaign, his song "Simply Human" was featured on the hit TV serious HOUSE, M.D. (FOX) and his songs “Brighter” and “Where Do I Even Start?” have been featured on the popular network television show Grey's Anatomy (ABC). After being featured on Grey’s Anatomy, “Where Do I Even Start” reached No.74 on the Top 100 Alternative Songs on iTunes. Reid is currently recording a new, full-length solo album which is expected to be released in Fall 2012.

White black and shades of grey
Some things you can’t explain
But I’ll keep you safe
Numbers don’t apply
When we’re in wild like lions
It’s gone on long enough
Hold on tight
Wait till the stars ignite
And when the world’s on fire
I’ll be by your side
Numbers don’t apply
When we’re in wild like lions
It’s gone on long enough
Nothing’s adding up with science
Hold on tight
Wait till the stars ignite
And when the world’s on fire
I’ll be by your side
Numbers don’t apply
When we’re in wild like lions
It’s gone on long enough
Nothing’s adding up with science
The lyrics of Morgan Taylor Reid's song "Science" are a mix of hope and despair, as the singer addresses the mysteries of love and the world. The imagery of "sins and saints," "white black and shades of grey" suggest that the singer is grappling with moral and philosophical questions that don't have clear answers. However, he offers reassurance to someone he cares for, promising to keep them safe during this uncertain time.
The refrain of "numbers don't apply when we're in wild like lions" suggests that the singer believes logic and scientific explanations can't capture the complexity and intensity of human emotion. He contrasts this with the idea that "nothing's adding up with science," implying that rationality and empirical evidence may not be enough to explain everything. Despite this confusion, there is a sense of determination and solidarity in the lines "hold on tight, wait till the stars ignite, and when the world's on fire, I'll be by your side."
Overall, the lyrics of "Science" encourage listeners to embrace the unknown and navigate the world's challenges through love and human connection, even when reason fails to provide all the answers.
