Born To Be Free
Moriah Peters Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Come, what you running away from?
Come, there's only liberty here
Now open arms surround you
Now love will conquer your fear
Look up, let go the pain that you've seen
You've been who you are
Not who you could be
Lift up open hands
Reach out where you stand
Wherever you are know that you are
Born to be free
One man sacrifice
One death for all life
Don't forget it
You're forgiven
Born to be free

Bring every imperfection
Bring every hurt you hide
Look up, let go, leave it behind
Healing is here now
There's no need to fight

Lift up open hands
Reach out where you stand
Wherever you are know that you are
Born to be free
One man sacrifice
One death for all life
Don't forget it
You're forgiven
Born to be free

Come, what you running away from?
Come, there's only liberty here

Lift up open hands
Reach out where you stand
Wherever you are, know that you are
Born to be free
One-man sacrifice
One death for all life
Don't forget it
You're forgiven
Born to be free

Lift up open hands
Reach out where you stand
Wherever you are know that you are
Born to be free
One-man sacrifice
One death for all life

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
We're born to be free

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Born To Be Free" by Moriah Peters are centered around finding freedom and release from pain and hurt. Peters urges listeners to stop running away and instead embrace the liberty that can be found through love and the sacrifice of one man. The song encourages individuals to let go of their fears and the pain they have experienced in the past and look towards their potential to be free.

The refrain of the song emphasizes this message of freedom with Peters singing, "Lift up open hands, reach out where you stand, wherever you are know that you are born to be free." She tells listeners to bring their imperfections and hidden hurts out into the open and to leave them behind, for healing is available. The repetition of the phrase "one man sacrifice, one death for all life" references the Christian belief in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

We all have to understand that we don't have strength do do things wright by our own. We just need to get that, know where are we sinning and ask to God change that. And He will transform you.
And when we really understand what Jesus made for us in that Cross, and His endless love, you will e so grateful that made God's will should be easy and bring happiness to you!!!

Remember what Bible says at Philippians 4:8:
"For the rest, my brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things have honour, whatever things are upright, whatever things are holy, whatever things are beautiful, whatever things are of value, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, give thought to these things."
Notes that feel blamed is not in this verse. This is an enemy's trap to keep you frozen into your spiritual life!

Here is a book that will help you: "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan.

Hope I helped you a little bit :)

If you ask me ,"How much do I love this song ?"I would say,"I love it so much that I'd play it each morning."The best part about it is refers to Christianity.Once you become a Christian you get a feeling of relief.Which is like the feeling of being free.

Anything I have heard of Moriah Peters is amazing and beautiful. But, this new album is powerful and exquisite. A big hi to your husband Joel. I was able to see For King and Country in person during WinterJam 2016. They are superb. And then, I found out of you through your testimony on I AM SECOND. I feel overjoyed about your testimony, finding out you are a spectacular singer, and better yet, that you are married to Joel from FOR KING AND COUNTRY. God sure gave Joel an amazing wife, and an amazing husband to you. A power couple in Christ for the Glory of God. And the song about fear, really has touched my heart. I am one of those people that have had a lot of fears in my life, and little by little I have let it cripple me. God has used you and your new album to remind me, HE is bigger and stronger than any fear I could ever have. God bless you. P.S.- during WinterJam 2016 at Grand Rapids, Michigan, you were in the audience, and Joel gave you a kiss. That was so sweet. I was wondering who might his wife be. Then by accident as mentioned before, on I AM SECOND found your testimony. And when I went to put on the "I'll wait for you," I finally realized you were Joel's wife. I flipped out, jumped up and down. I was like ahhhh amazing. What a blessing to see both of you are sooooo talented. And waited for each other. Thank you again Moriah- so awesome. I think I'm freaking out again. lol
