Love Is Spoken Here
Mormon Tabernacle Choir Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

1. (Girls) I see my mother kneeling with our family each
Day.
I hear the words she whispers as she bows her head to
Pray.
Her plea to the Father quiets all my fears,
And I am thankful love is spoken here.

2. (Boys) Mine is a home where ev'ry hour is blessed by
The strength of priesthood pow'are,
With father and mother leading the way,
Teaching me how to trust and obey;
And the things they teach are crystal clear,
For love is spoken here.

[3rd ending] I can often feel the Savior near
When love is spoken here.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Mormon Tabernacle Choir's song "Love Is Spoken Here" beautifully illustrate the importance of love and prayer in a family. In the first verse, the girl talks about how she sees her mother kneel down with the family every day and pray, and how the words her mother whispers make her feel safe and loved. She emphasizes on the power of her mother's prayer to quiet all her fears and anxieties. The girl is grateful that love is spoken in her family, and the love and affection they share is reflected in the prayers they offer.

In the second verse, the boy talks about how his family is blessed by the strength of priesthood power. He elaborates on the fact that his parents, especially his father, are positive role models who teach him important values such as trust and obedience. He emphasizes that the things they teach him are crystal clear, as they are infused with love. The boy also adds that he can feel the Savior nearby when love is spoken in their home. Both verses come together, showing how love and prayer can create a sacred and safe environment for a family.

I love this song. I didn’t grow up with a priesthood holder at home, but I remember my mother kneeling and praying for our family.

I always turn to listen to this song to be reminded of the love my Heavenly Father has for me after after every time I fall hard into my addiction and drug abuse. I love God!

I love this song because even though my Mother lives in the Spirit World now, I still have a clear memory of seeing my Mother kneeling by her bed praying when I was a child.  I'm thankful love was spoken there so that I could always have a desire to set the same example for my children when I am grown.

I love this one too (even though I am not LDS). Whatever your religion try to have a loving home. Try to say 4 positive for every negative one to the children is a good start. If you cannot say something nice say nothing.
