The First Noel, the Angels did say
The angels proclaimed the first Christmas to the shepherds

Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
The Christmas message was given to humble shepherds while they were in the fields

In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
The shepherds were watching over their flocks in the fields

On a cold winter's night that was so deep.
The night was cold and dark when the angels appeared to the shepherds

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Noel means 'good news' and is being repeated to express the joyous occasion

Born is the King of Israel!
Jesus, the King of Israel, has been born

They looked up and saw a star
The shepherds looked up to see a new star in the sky

Shining in the East beyond them far
The star was shining brightly in the East, far away from the shepherds

And to the earth it gave great light
The star illuminated the earth with its great light

And so it continued both day and night.
The star continued to shine both day and night, guiding those who saw it

And by the light of that same star
The same star that the shepherds saw led the Wise men to Bethlehem

Three Wise men came from country far
The Wise men came from a distant land to seek the King

To seek for a King was their intent
Their purpose was to find the King of the Jews

And to follow the star wherever it went.
They followed the star to find the King

This star drew nigh to the northwest
The star led the Wise men to the northwest to Bethlehem

O'er Bethlehem it took its rest
The star rested over the place where Jesus was born in Bethlehem

And there it did both Pause and stay
The star stopped moving and remained over Bethlehem

Right o'er the place where Jesus lay.
The star was directly over the location where Jesus was born

Then entered in those Wise men three
The Wise men went into the place where Jesus was born

Full reverently upon their knee
They knelt down in great reverence and respect

And offered there in His presence
The Wise men presented their gifts to Jesus Himself

Their gold and myrrh and frankincense.
The Wise men gave gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the newborn King

Then let us all with one accord
Let us all come together in agreement

Sing praises to our heavenly Lord
Let us sing praises to our Lord in heaven

That hath made Heaven and earth of nought
God created everything out of nothing

And with his blood mankind has bought.
Jesus shed His blood to redeem and save mankind

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Noel is repeated to express the joy of Christ's birth

Born is the King of Israel!
Jesus, the King of Israel, has been born and this is the reason for the celebrations
