Eagle Rock
Motörhead Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I dont know how I know it
But I sure know its true
I know that you can always find
Some way to make it through
You might not have the answers
You could still be in shock
It aint fair, but you wont care
Long as youre doing the Eagle Rock

I dont know how it figures
But I know thats the way
That everything is done Nround here
Every night and day
You may not have much money
You might not own a clock
But you wont care what time it is
Long as youre doing the Eagle Rock

Come on baby, let me see you dance
I know we could make out real good
Given half a chance
I know I aint too pretty
And I sure do drink a lot

But you wont mind that, when you find that
You've been flying with the Eagle Rock

This was on the "No Voices In The Sky" single, the first Motorhead thing I ever bought when I was a teenager. One hell of an introduction. Not their "classic" era, which I got into later but this blew out speakers, ticked off my folks, and annoyed the Billy Joel-obsessed kids I went to high school with on Long Island. Job done. Thanks Lemmy (and Wurzel).

Always surprised by what the artist dismisses vs what the fans beg for. No one during March or Die said we gotta use this instead of Cat Scratch Fever?
