Spiral
Mother Of Millions Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I don′t have a spine
Rapture reeled my dream
But we all have to die
Can you see I'm bearing rites?
Can you see I′m going to bleed?
Burn in me, burn on me Spiral.
I plead night terrors
Inside my dome
I reeled all echoes in
But we all have to go
Can you see I'm bearing rites?
Can you see I'm going to bleed?
Burn in me, burn on me Spiral.
Will you speak out in the end?
It crawls like shadow
Crouching in thresholds, lurking in the downfall of man
It crawls and it paves the way
For division and derision and dying desire.
And an ending that is half a relief
And it creates
It creates the kingdom of spineless decisions
Conclusive incisions replace the skin of sensation with wrapping paper
And it sounds off
It has the sound of shame
And it collects
The aftermath of silent stares
The lyrics of "Spiral" by Mother Of Millions explore the themes of mortality, inner demons, and the price paid for making spineless decisions. The singer pleads his intentions but admits to lacking the courage to stand up for them, and being overwhelmed by the fear of death. He describes suffering from night terrors and battling his inner echoes. The chorus calls out to the spiral, asking if it will speak out in the end. The spiral represents a cycle of never-ending suffering and torment that we must all eventually face.
The second verse continues to delve into the singer's fears and the consequences of being unable to overcome them. He describes the spiral like a shadow, lurking in the downfall of mankind, paving the way for division and derision. It leads to dying desire and an ending that is half-a-relief. The spiral creates a "kingdom of spineless decisions" where people make conclusive incisions, replacing their sensations with wrapping paper. It sounds off with the sound of shame and collects the aftermath of silent stares.
Overall, the song speaks to the human condition of being trapped in our own minds and unable to escape the inevitability of death. The spiral represents the vicious cycle of fear, doubt, and self-destructive behavior that can all too easily become a part of our lives.
