Grace
Motions and Miles Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Open the centerfold and behold
The creases you've come to know make up your soul
Inspect the spectacle, the divine show
No-one understands but pretends to know

Inside your little palm, singing psalms
Peering through the space that's between your arms
My story lacks in the facts
I don't know what I'm on
So come on, coupe de grace

Coupe de grace
Coupe de grace
Coup de, coup de
Coupe de grace
Coupe de grace
Coup de, coup de

Running the circles through, right back to you
Finding at the finish line, nothing new
The let-down that sticks like glue
Slipping through my fingers gripping onto what is left of you

Waiting for lessons learned, taking turns
The loudest of them all, left to be unheard
My story lacks in the facts
That it's so absurd
So come on, coupe de grace

Coupe de grace
Coupe de grace
Coup de, coup de
Coupe de grace
Coupe de grace
Coup de, coup de
Coup de, coup de
Coup de, coup de

You know I want it
You know I need it
You know I need it all the time
You know I want it
You know I need it
You know I need it all the time
You know I want it
You know I need it
You know I need it all the time
You know I want it
You know I need it
You know I need it all the time
Time, time, time, time, time, time, time, time, time

Coupe de grace
Coupe de grace
Coup de, coup de
Coupe de grace
Coupe de grace
Coup de, coup de
Coup de, coup de
Coup de, coup de
Coup de, coup de

Coup de, coup de
Coup de, coup de

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of the song "Grace" by Motions and Miles seem to be a reflection of a personal journey towards self-realization and acceptance. The first few lines of the song "Open the centerfold and behold, The creases you've come to know make up your soul" could be interpreted as an invitation to take a closer look within oneself and accept every aspect, no matter how flawed or imperfect.

The following lines "Inspect the spectacle, the divine show, No-one understands but pretends to know" suggest that the journey towards self-discovery can be a lonely one. While others may try to understand or give advice, they may not truly comprehend what one is going through, and may only be pretending to do so.

The chorus of the song, which repeats the phrase "Coupe de grace" several times, seems to be a call to action - an encouragement to confront and overcome any obstacles or challenges that may come one's way.

Overall, the lyrics of "Grace" seem to describe a journey towards acceptance and self-realization, and a call to overcome any obstacles and challenges along the way.

Guys, I have been following In:aviate/motions and miles for a while. The name in:aviate is now owned by Rise Records. The band left the label because they weren't getting promoted. Motions and miles has hone by the wayside too. You better believe if they do a reunion show like I've heard they might, I will be in the front, singing all the words.

These guys are a Christian band, right? There's so little information about them, but I can honestly say they are the best Christian band I've ever heard; I mean, who are they? They surely have a future like you wouldn't believe.
