Drummer Kenneth Kapstad joined Motorpsycho as a full member late in 2007.
Their new double-CD "Black Hole / Blank Canvas" was released 17th/20th march 2006 in Europe. The album has been getting generally positive reviews, proving the skills of the arguably most innovative Norwegian band of the last decade. Bent Sæther plays drums on this record, except on the track "You Loose", which is played by Jacco van Rooij who also played drums for the band on a short tour in spring 2006.
In activity since 1990, Motorpsycho have released 10 full length albums, as well as a number of EPs, a couple of live albums, and some side-project releases. Over the years, they moved from their initial mixture of metal, grunge and hardcore music, playing almost any kind of musical genre: indie, pop, psych rock, lo-fi, stoner, avantgarde, classic hard rock, acoustic, fusion, jazz rock and country rock as part of the The International Tussler Society.
2008 saw the release of the album, "Little Lucid Moments", containing 4 songs lasting between 11-21 minutes. The release was followed by a European tour in April and May 2008.
Early 2009, Motorpsycho recorded the Patrik Fitzgerald cover Punch with Jello Biafra from Dead Kennedys on vocals. Jello Biafra have, according to Norwegian broadcaster NRK been a fan of Motorpsycho for 16-17 years.
In the autumn of 2009 they released a vinyl-only record, Child of the Future and in January 2010 they released Heavy Metal Fruit, their first album with an outside producer.
On May 23 2016 it was announced on the band's website that Kenneth Kapstad will be leaving Motorpsycho after nine years with the band. The band did not announce a replacement, with supposed upcoming gigs in Brazil and a 40 show stint as the houseband in writer Carl Frode Tiller's play "Begynnelser" at Trøndelag Teater in Trondheim from September 2 2016.
However, on the second day of 2017 the fans could greet the long-awaited news of a replacement with delight. Swedish Trondheim resident Tomas Järmyr who has also played in acts such as Zu, Yodok, Yodok lll, Sunswitch and with Aidan Baker. He also studies at the music conservatory at NTNU – like Kapstad, Ståle Storløkken, Ola Kvernberg, Ketil Møster "and just about every decent musician we’ve worked with over the last decade before him" (quote Bent Sæther, January 2 2017). This piece of news was also supplemented with hints of an upcoming album in the fall of 2017. The album, titled "The Tower" was released on September 8th 2017.

Rats Live On No Evil Star
You take your shoes off but your feet don't smell
You called this meeting but you wouldn′t tell
Now I can see you're gonna give me hell
I am the cheese and you're the farmer in the dell
I don′t know I don′t know
And then I try to tell you my concern
That's when I see your face begin to burn
I guess it′s my fault cause I never ever learn
Here we go here we go
Rats live on no evil star
Everything I say you hear the other way
It's 1917 and I′m the Czar
A man a plan a canal Panama
The way I speak a word is not the way I'm heard
Cause I′m the US you're the USSR
Now you're done and it′s my turn to speak
My words come slowly and my voice is weak
Your body language tells me I′m a geek
You kick my ass and I just turn the other cheek
I don't know I don′t know
You really got me up against the wall
I'm Humpty Dumpty and you′re my great fall
If you're Pele I′m a soccer ball
If you're an ax I'm the Apostle Paul
Here we go here we go
Rats live on no evil star
It seems you′re not at home outside of palindrome
You′re an eagle and I'm three over par
A man a plan a canal Panama
Looks like you′ve met your goal you're in complete control
You′re an entomologist and I'm in a jar
So now you′re looking at me like you're bored
My mouth is writing checks I can't afford
If I′m a village you′re a Mongol horde
If I was Kurgan you would be MacLeod's sword
I don′t know I don't know
I can′t believe we even made it this far
I say, "Rats live on," you hear, "No evil star"
When it's all over you ask where we are
My lips say no but my body says, "Auuugghhhhh!"
Here we go here we go
Rats live on no evil star
Everything I say you hear the other way
Cause you′re Pete Townshend and I'm a guitar
A man a plan a canal Panama
The way I speak a word is not the way it's heard
Cause I′m Br′er Rabbit and you're made out of tar

Rats Live On No Evil Star
The song "No Evil" by Motorpsycho is a conversation between two people who are unable to communicate effectively with each other. The first verse sets up the dynamic between the two, with the singer feeling like they are being railroaded into something they don't quite understand. The line "rats live on no evil star" may be a nod to the fact that it can be difficult for people to truly understand one another, and that our perceptions of reality may differ.
The song then continues with the two speakers taking turns talking, but being unable to fully understand each other. The chorus repeats the line "rats live on no evil star" and seems to emphasize that the two are just talking past each other. The references to historical figures and events may play into the theme of miscommunication, with each person hearing things differently because of their own biases and experiences.
As the song progresses, it becomes clear that the two are just not able to connect, no matter how hard they try. The final line "my lips say no but my body says 'auuugghhhhh'" is a visceral representation of the frustration and disconnect between the two speakers.
Overall, "No Evil" seems to highlight the challenges inherent in communication and understanding between individuals, especially when biases and preconceptions come into play.
