Gold Coast rockers Mourning Tide… Read Full Bio ↴Gold Coast, Australia: 2000-present
Gold Coast rockers Mourning Tide began in 2000, as four friends with the same vision: to be the most entertaining and unique band in the emerging hardcore/metal scene. Touring hard and partying harder has earned them a strong local following on the East Coast.
In 2003, Mourning Tide released their successful self-titled debut EP, through Modern Music/Sony/BMG. From this success, Mourning Tide have supported and toured with international guests - Eighteen Visions, Every Time I Die, Strung Out, Soilwork, Throwdown, On Broken Wings, Cro Mags and hometown boys - Parkway Drive, I Killed the Prom Queen, and After The Fall.
Although Mourning Tide has been through a major line-up change within the last year, the change has been welcomed, inspiring the members to take on a new direction with their material.
August 2006 saw the arrival of Mourning Tide's highly anticipated debut full-length entitled, Trash 'N' Burn. Trash 'N' Burn is an explosive album, fusing brutality, glamour & sleazy rock. While maintaining the ferocious and intense metal sound of their self-titled EP, the new album sees a triumphant return to early 80's rock n roll, complete with wailing guitar solos and dirty rock vocals.
With a loyal fan base continuing to grow Australia-wide and a reputation for their blistering live shows, Mourning Tide have produced a mind-blowing LP, that will dazzle their current fans and excite new listeners looking for something out of the ordinary.

The song "Set You Free" by Mourning Tide speaks about the memories and emotions that come with losing someone close. The lyrics reflect on past moments with this person, recalling the times they shared and the songs they sang together. The singer acknowledges that the distance between them and the pain of losing them can be overwhelming at times, but they find comfort in the fact that they will see their friend again one day.
Despite their heavy heart, the singer finds strength in the legacy their friend left behind - the memories they created together, the laughter they shared, and the music they made. The singer searches the sky for their friend and finds solace in the sun, which seems to dry their tears and offer a sense of hope. The lyrics encourage the listener not to dwell on the bad times but instead to cherish the good memories of their loved one and let those memories set them free.
Overall, "Set You Free" is a poignant and reflective song about the pain of loss and the healing power of memories. It reminds us that even when people leave our lives, they can still live on through the memories and legacies they leave behind.
