Gold Coast rockers Mourning Tide… Read Full Bio ↴Gold Coast, Australia: 2000-present
Gold Coast rockers Mourning Tide began in 2000, as four friends with the same vision: to be the most entertaining and unique band in the emerging hardcore/metal scene. Touring hard and partying harder has earned them a strong local following on the East Coast.
In 2003, Mourning Tide released their successful self-titled debut EP, through Modern Music/Sony/BMG. From this success, Mourning Tide have supported and toured with international guests - Eighteen Visions, Every Time I Die, Strung Out, Soilwork, Throwdown, On Broken Wings, Cro Mags and hometown boys - Parkway Drive, I Killed the Prom Queen, and After The Fall.
Although Mourning Tide has been through a major line-up change within the last year, the change has been welcomed, inspiring the members to take on a new direction with their material.
August 2006 saw the arrival of Mourning Tide's highly anticipated debut full-length entitled, Trash 'N' Burn. Trash 'N' Burn is an explosive album, fusing brutality, glamour & sleazy rock. While maintaining the ferocious and intense metal sound of their self-titled EP, the new album sees a triumphant return to early 80's rock n roll, complete with wailing guitar solos and dirty rock vocals.
With a loyal fan base continuing to grow Australia-wide and a reputation for their blistering live shows, Mourning Tide have produced a mind-blowing LP, that will dazzle their current fans and excite new listeners looking for something out of the ordinary.

But those snakes with fangs just got us all wrong
And wasted all their venom.
You wanna bite open wide and eat our dust
What goes around comes around
Adios fucking viper town
A shotgun blast shakes the bones of a rattle snake
We are mad dog renegades
Yo fuck the rest we do it our own way
Mad dog renegades
Highway desire
We leave a trail of fire
Remember when we outstretched our hands
When times were bad and all you did was bite
Well that was then and this is now
We won't forgive and we won't forget
The road ahead is winding
And with each new turn we're fighting a new tangled ball of serpents
There spitting daggers and pitchforks
Seen one snake you've seen em' all
Snake handlers immunity
Adios fucking viper town
A shotgun blast shakes the bones of a rattle snake
We are mad dog renegades
Yo fuck the rest we do it our own way
Mad dog renegades
Highway desire
We leave a trail of fire
Remember when we outstretched our hands
When times were bad and all you did was bite
Well that was then and this is now
We won't forgive and we won't forget
We won't forgive
No we won't forget
We won't forgive
No we won't forget
We won't forgive
No we won't forget
Tonight like last night
Live for our calling
Forge it
Live for it
Vipers die alone
The lyrics to Mourning Tide's song Viper Town convey a message of defiance and rebellion against those who have wronged the singer and their companions. The metaphor of vipers is used to represent those who have bitten and hurt the singer in the past, but ultimately failed to destroy them. It is clear that the singer has been fighting against these vipers from the beginning, and now that they are leaving town, they are taking revenge by "skinning" the vipers and leaving them in the dust. The line "what goes around comes around" suggests that these actions are a form of karmic retribution for the harm that has been done to them.

This is what happened..
Singers slutty wife,
Left him for eighteen visions drummer I think from memory,
Then mourning tide singer broke edge,
Found drugs, and that was the end of them unfortunately.
