Everywhere
Moustache featuring Melinda Jackson Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Out your name?
You know that I'm falling
And I don't know what to say
I'll speak a little louder
I'll even shout
You know that I'm proud
And I can't get the words out
I want to be with you everywhere
Oh I
I want to be with you everywhere
(Wanna be with you everywhere)
Something's happening
Happening to me
My friends say I'm acting peculiarly
C'mon baby
We better make a start
You better make it soon
Before you break my heart
Oh I
I want to be with you everywhere
Oh I
I want to be with you everywhere
(Wanna be with you everywhere)
Can you hear me calling
Out your name?
You know that I'm falling
And I don't know what to say
Come along baby
We better make a start
You better make it soon
Before you break my heart
Oh I
I want to be with you everywhere
Oh I
I want to be with you everywhere
Oh I
I want to be with you everywhere
Oh I
I want to be with you everywhere
(Wanna be with you everywhere)
The lyrics to Moustache's "Everywhere" are about the desperation of wanting to be with someone you love. The opening lines "Can you hear me calling out your name?" set the mood for the rest of the song. The singer is falling in love with someone and doesn't know how to express their feelings. They want to be closer to this person, hence the repetition of the lines "I want to be with you everywhere." The singer is trying to muster up the courage to speak their truth, even if it means shouting. The mention of the singer's pride indicates that they are willing to put themselves out there for the sake of their love.
As the song progresses, it is evident that the singer's feelings are affecting their behavior, as their friends say that they are acting peculiarly. The urgency in the line "You better make it soon before you break my heart" suggests that the singer's feelings are not being reciprocated, or at least not at the same level as theirs.
Overall, the song captures the theme of the intense feeling of falling in love and the need to be with the object of affection. The singer is struggling with their emotions and their inability to express themselves, hoping that the other person will make a move before it's too late.

I had decided when I listen to a song that if i'm interested enough I'll listen to any n sides, alternative versions, notable live performances, collaborations, samples, covers/originals, remixes/mashups. Everywhere was suggested by YouTube and I love Fleetwood Mac especially Christine mcvie, I look what covers there's been and there's one by an Aussie band called moustache released in the early 2000's. I remember hearing a cover of it on the radio from around that time so I look it up. Not only is it the cover I remember, but it's sung by Mindy Jackson who'd later be the singer in rogue traders (who I also love) after nat bass left. OMFG. And I like the cover. Keep singing Mindy.
