Love what u wrote. So true. U have to keep your children memories alive as well as still be the best darn mother u can be if u hsve step children. Their is children everywhere and in your family cause life goes on and the little ones look up to the adults. I know it would be a struggle I couldn't imagine. I would just die and hope I would have support like she did in this show. I know in real life we don't know cause of the documentary they shown on him it shown he had it rough but loosing a parent or a child I think is the hardest. Lost my dad a couple years ago he was 58 and my mom is not in great health. Just heartbreaking and it's part of your soul that disappears that u feel gone.

I understand that there are many who think that Mr. Shue is a bad teacher, but beyond his mistakes, he and Finn had a special bond. Finn was like a son for Will. They always supported each other. And Finn's death really affected Will because Finn was destined to continue his legacy by running the glee club and yet he had to hold all of it for others and be strong. He took the jacket and it was wrong. But I honestly think Finn would have understood and Kurt too.

Because obviously they didn't submit anything from this episode for Emmy nominations. It would've been extremely disrespectful to use a real person's death to win an Emmy. People would've hated them. So while this is definitely an Emmy deserving episode, if they don't submit a nomination obviously they can't win.

This episode, and Cory's death, hit me so hard when it happened, because my brother also struggled with a heroin addiction. It hit so close to home for me, but reminded me how grateful I was to still have my brother in my life. Fast forward to this year, he died of a heroin overdose, when we all thought he was getting better. So now - this just hits in so many different ways. The part about going on as a parent, I can't imagine how my parents feel. Everything feels so empty without him. People are so quick to demonize people for addiction but don't realize just how much effect it truly has on the person's life and the loved ones around them.

I wasn't a huge fan of the later Glee seasons but this episode...I was crying like a bitch. It was the perfect tribute to not only a great character on the show but to Cory Monteith himself. And the fact thier acting is all real emotions and not just scripted ones makes the episode ten times better. It's one of Glees best episodes to date and still hits hard in the feels today

Everytime I rewatch this clip I cry. I am not a parent but I can feel the emotion of the actress. When you lose a partner you are called a widow or a widower. There is no word for a parent who lost a child because it is the saddest thing, and to terrible to think about.

Not just that he held it or wore it; he pressed his nose into it, because he missed the smell of Finn. Our sense of smell is the one most strongly connected with memory and everyone's smell is slightly different. A simple scent can literally bring someone to life again for us. I don't think it was an acting choice but an instinct on Chris Colfer's part because he missed Cory.

what makes this show, and in particular, scenes like this, is, this is real pain that the cast of glee went through. I think the beauty of this show, was that they were not afraid to show every facet of human emotion. The cast, in Cory's memory, decided to continue on with the show, because they knew if it had been anyone else, and Cory were still alive, he would press on in their memory. The reason that this episode made us all sob, was because we were witnessing, a very strong group of people, people who have been through a lot, mourn, in real time, the death of a family member. I appreciate the strength it took for everyone to get through these scenes because it can't have been easy, or fun.

The one thing that really hit me was something I heard one of the writers say cuz it showed the love they all had for Corey (Finn). The writer said that the script was loosely written and if the cast strayed from that script, he wasn't going to stop them. None of the emotions were faked and you could see the hurt, pain, and loss on their faces. When Rachel sang to make you feel my love, I cried. When Mercedes sang I'll stand by you, I heard and felt her pain. But Carol said something that broke my to my core. She said, "You go on being a mother even though you don't have a child anymore!" This made me weep cuz it brings back memories of my miscarriage. I was a mother for about 2 months and the loss of my child crushed me cuz it's true. I'm still a mother even though I don't have a child anymore. It's been years since this episode aired and yet it still breaks me everytime!

I'd like to say that was some superb acting, but it all seems so real. When I heard of Cory's death I cried for days and I didn't even know the man. What a terrible loss for his family, for Glee, for the world. There was just something about Cory Monteith. He was not only born to play the role of Finn Hudson, but he was just one of those good hearted people. I may not have known him, or even met him, but you just needed to watch one interview with him and you could feel his authenticity. I still miss him to this day.

This scene always hits home for me.
We lost my older brother to an overdose exactly one year after Corey passed, and this moment always fucks me up.
I recently played this scene for my mom, she balled and she said it's exactly how she feels.
Some days she wakes up and says for a split second she forgets and the wind is knocked out of her all over again when she remembers.

May Corey & Naya continue to rest in peace, and may any parent who has had to bury their baby find the strength everyday to keep going.

My heart breaks for everyone, but my heart breaks even more for Cory's mom. Having to lose your child has got to be the worst pain in the world. What Carole said is what every mother feels when losing her baby.

Carols acting in this brought me to tears even though she wasn't his real life mom she had to live thro the turmoil of actually being called from either his parent's/agent or from lea Michele herself and to relieve all the moments from that moment and to put it in this one scene and she did have to be Cory's on screen mom

cory died around the same time my little brother did, and he reminded me of him a lot. big and goofy, with a heart too good for this world. this episode was especially hard to watch. it was especially hard watching it with my mom, who couldn’t bear to finish the episode after this scene. as painful as it was to lose a brother, i can’t imagine how much worse it feels to lose a child.

This scene just rips my heart out every time I watch it, I normally never get that upset over a television show, but because the guy really died in real life, it just makes it that much more tragic, it’s so hard to believe somebody who had so much felt that he had so little in the end, and as a current pain killer addict, having all my friends and family trying everything to help me, ALWASY there for me….he was loved by millions, so where were all the people in this life? I have to stop typing, I can’t see the screen from the tears in my eyes😰😰😰😰

I have been avoiding watching this for a while because I didn't know how was I gonna react, and it still breaks my heart the way Carol is packing Finn's clothes. It's just so heartbreaking to know that this happens every day in the world and that most mothers and fathers have to deal with this loss. It's been almost five years and I can't believe our beautiful baby is gone. He wasn't perfect, but he was a human. He was loved and so happy. RIP Cory ❤

This scene has to be one of the saddest of the Quaterback episode. We have not 1 but 3 of the most important people in Finn's life all talking about him, in his room. The football, the lamp and the jacket are all things that I bet a lot of gleeks will remember which makes the scene 100x more emotional. Carole saying "You have to keep on being a parent even though you don't have a child anymore" just makes me cry even harder.

even though this scene (well, whole episode) is sad, it also shows how much can be gained in family loss. Thru loss of loved ones can bring families closer together to celebrate the pros and cons of the shared lives... this scene is powerful and glee is amazing still today <3
