- DJ Mr. Jones (real name: Jonas Uittenbosch), a techno producer from Haarlem, the Netherlands.
Mr Jones, born in Amsterdam in 1981 under the name of Jonas Uittenbosch, was always surrounded by music. He played some instruments during his childhood and grew up listening to jazz, untill he discovered housemusic and bought his own turntables once he was a teenager.
There aren’t many styles Mr Jones didn’t try: from hardcore to dubstep, from electro to hiphop. He even had a gigg in Bitterzoet as Hiphop DJ. “But once I saw and heard Dave Clarke in 2003, I was hooked on techno.” He was still discovering techno music, but he already was asked to perform at parties troughout the Netherlands, Germany and Austria.
But spinning records wasn’t enough for him. Mr Jones started to produce tracks. In the last couple of years his main focus was to find his own sound. “That’s why I didn’t feel the urge to DJ a lot anymore. I really made a giant leap after Ritzi Lee gave me some advice.” He started to leak some of his tracks on the internet and it didn’t take long before these got picked up. “It really was mindblowing when I heard that Dave Clarke played some of my tracks during his weekly radioshow WHITENOISE. ” It started with the track ‘Zoom 21.0’, released by Anthony Duponts label ‘Bass Pressure’, soon followed by ‘Zoom 30.0’, released by the label of Johnny Digital, ‘IHARTDIGITAL’.
The passion he has for music and his fascination for making something out of nothing has brought Mr Jones this far. “But don’t think I’m satisfied. This is only the beginning.”

Mr. Jones Lyrics

Perfume, the wind and the leaves
Hush me, touch me
The burns, the holes in the sheets
I'm hoping the smoke
Hides the shame I've got on my face
Cognac and broken glass
I found a pink cigarette
On the bed the day that you left
And how can I forget that your lips were there
Your kiss goes everywhere, touches everything but me
Hush me, touch me
Champagne, your hair in the breeze
Hush me, touch me
Lipstick, a slap on my cheek
Your eyes cried at last
Told me everything I was afraid to ask
Now I'm dressed in white
And you've burned me for the last time (this ain't the last time)
I found a pink cigarette
On the bed the day that you left
And how can I forget that your lips were there
Your kiss goes everywhere, touches everything but me
You'll find a note and you'll see my silhouette
There's just five hours left until you find me dead
There's just four hours left until you find me dead
There's just three hours left until you find me dead
There's just two hours left until you find me dead
There's one more hour and then you will find me dead
There's just
Mr. Jones's song "Pink" can be interpreted as a heartbreaking story of a toxic and abusive relationship, where the singer has been constantly mistreated and used by their partner. The lyrics depict a moment of realization where the singer, who was once a victim, gains the courage to take control of their life and end the cycle of abuse.
The song begins with the pleading lyrics of "Hush me, touch me, perfume, the wind, and the leaves" which can be interpreted as the singer begging for love and affection from their abusive partner. The singer then goes on to describe how they have been pushed to their limit with "Cognac and broken glass" symbolizing the excessive drinking that they have been using to cope with the abuse. However, in the midst of this, the singer discovers a pink cigarette on the bed the day that their partner left, which serves as a symbol for the betrayal and hurt that they have experienced.
As the song progresses, the singer gains more self-awareness and confidence to confront their partner. The lyrics "Your kiss goes everywhere but touches everything but me" signify how the singer has realized that their partner never truly cared for them, but instead just used them as a tool to satisfy their own desires. The song ends with the singer deciding to leave their partner for good and even contemplating suicide. However, this can be interpreted as their way of taking back control of their life and refusing to let their partner have power over them any longer.

I was down at the New Amsterdam
Staring at this yellow-haired girl
Mr. Jones strikes up a conversation
With a black-haired flamenco dancer
You know she dances while his father plays guitar
She's suddenly beautiful
And we all want something beautiful
Man, I wish I was beautiful
So come dance the silence down through the morning
Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la, yeah
Uh huh, yeah
Cut up, Maria
Show me some of them Spanish dances
Pass me a bottle, Mr. Jones
Believe in me
Help me believe in anything
'Cause I wanna be someone who believes
Yeah
Mr. Jones and me
Tell each other fairy tales
And we stare at the beautiful women
She's looking at you
Ah, no, no, she's looking at me
Smilin' in the bright lights
Coming through in stereo
When everybody loves you
You can never be lonely
Well, I'm gon' paint my picture
Paint myself in blue and red and black and gray
All of the beautiful colors are very, very meaningful
Yeah, well, you know gray is my favorite color
I felt so symbolic yesterday
If I knew Picasso
I would buy myself a gray guitar and play
Mr. Jones and me
Looked into the future
Yeah, we stare at the beautiful women
She's looking at you
I don't think so
She's looking at me
Standing in the spotlight
I bought myself a gray guitar
When everybody loves me
I will never be lonely
I will never be lonely
Said I'm never gonna be lonely
I wanna be a lion
Yeah, everybody wanna pass as cats
We all wanna be big, big stars
Yeah, but we got different reasons for that
Believe in me
'Cause I don't believe in anything
And I wanna be someone to believe, to believe, to believe
Yeah
Mr. Jones and me
Stumbling through the barrio
Yeah, we stare at the beautiful women
She's perfect for you
Man, there's got to be somebody for me
I wanna be Bob Dylan
Mr. Jones wishes he was someone just a little more funky
When everybody loves you, ah son
That's just about as funky as you can be
Mr. Jones and me
Staring at the video
When I look at the television, I want to see me
Staring right back at me
We all wanna be big stars
But we don't know why, and we don't know how
But when everybody loves me
I'm wanna be just about as happy as I can be
Mr. Jones and me
We're gonna be big stars

The guy talks about this blonde girl he liked the look of... but he settled for the dark haired Latina girl because she was dancing sexy for him... after she showed some interest. "She's suddenly beautiful"
And when someone accepts you for who you are (the best person you will ever be) that makes you feel beautiful.. <3
the era in which we develop at the fastest rate is our teenage years... not just physically but also emotionally and most of all mentally.
He talks about wanting to be a lion but then just passing as a cat. Again it's accepting reality.
Life looks good during the period when you are developing. I'm not sure anybody can ever live up to their own expectations (no matter what success you think they have in their field)
He wants to paint that picture with lots of colours... but then when he looks at it it's just 50 shades of grey.
