Profile: Born and raised in San Francisco's Mission district as a proud Latin, J.C Oliva, aka Mr. Kee, knew at an early age of twelve that his passion for music was going to be his future. Hard work, high goals, and relentless determination has paved the way thus far, and continues to fuel his lifelong quest of doing what he loves to do, rap.
Following the blueprints laid by independent gurus E-40 and JT The Bigga Figga, Kee at the age of 17, started his own record label Sticky Style Recordz and released his debut E.P. Livin' On The Ultimate High. Selling half through distribution, and the other half through self-determination, Mr. Kee's name began buzzing around the Bay Area, creating a cult-like following in the bay area and Central Valley.
Kee continued to build himself a name with the release of his second independent album, From The Womb To The Tomb. An album made up of Kee, his brother Sidewayz Valentino, and cousin Duke Shiesty, under the group moniker I.T.P.G. Soon after the record was released on the market, word in the industry rapidly grew. Mr. Kee's reputation for his dynamic vocal presence coupled with his in-depth story telling abilities, caught the ears of local record labels, and Kee eventually signed with the compilation powerhouse, Black-N-Brown Entertainment, becoming their first and premier solo artist.
His debut LP, 14 Kt. Dreams, which sound scanned 13,000 units, featured Mr. Kee alongside some of the Bay Area's elite, including B-Legit, 11/5, C-Bo and Houston, Texas phenomenon, South Park Mexican. Not one to disappoint, Kee easily outshined every one of his guests, displaying the necessary creative talent, skills, and finesse to establish himself as a significant figure in the Bay Area.
After the release of 14 Kt. Dreams, Mr. Kee began to spread like an epidemic appearing on over 60 albums in the Bay Area and Down South. All the while, prepping the nation for Kee to unleash The Latin Plague.
For his sophomore album, fans found Mr. Kee straying away from the 'typical' Bay Area album, and big name features on The Latin Plague. Spawning hits like Tequilla Bodyshots, Nasty Mind, Hydro and It's On You. Proving he is more than capable and deserving of taking his talent nationwide and joining the illustrious ranks of the few Latin rappers to transcend all boundaries. He next released a few volumes of mixtapes in the year of 2003 called The Doin' Too Much Mixtapes. In 2004 he came out with another solo called The One. He then dropped the Bay Area 51 Mixtape alongside the Soldiers Of Fortune in 2005. He came with yet another mixtape called the Hennesey Project in 2006 before he dropped his next solo album called The First The Last The Only which was a collaboration with Thizz Nation.

Lookin' fly as can be
Saw this pretty girl
Lookin' back at me
Now come on sexy lady
Get off the wall

So fine, so sexy, so beautiful
I'ma turn around and work it too back
So fine, so sexy, so beautiful
Baby, roll wit it

Gone drop to the

Gone get it
Gone get it, buddy love
I was steppin' over cats
I was steppin' over dogs
I was steppin' over frogs
She was standin' against the wall
Boss hogg, buddy love
Tryin' to get to that girl
I ain't never seen nothin' like that in my world
So fine, so sexy, made my toes wanna
Curl, take my hat off to you

Hey girl, I like the way you move and keep it going
Love the way you're shakin' your tail and thighs
Oh, you actin' kinky' and blowin' my mind
Now take my hand and follow me
Girl, don't be afraid
You can bring a friend
Gonna do it like this
Do it like this
Gonna do it like that
Do it like that

Gonna turn around and work it too
So fine, so sexy, so beautiful
Baby, roll with it
Roll with it
Roll with it
Roll with it
Gonna drop to the floor
Roll with it
Roll with it
Don't get it
The song "Back Up" by Mr. Kee showcases the no-holds-barred reality of life on the streets in New Orleans. The song focuses on the struggles and triumphs of a young man trying to hustle and make a buck in a deadly environment. The lyrics are full of profanity, drug references, and violent content, but this is all to paint a picture of what life is like for many young people living in poverty in America.
The song begins with Mr. Kee introducing himself as the Ice Cream Man and a member of No Limit Soldiers, a trademark that he is proud of. Mr. Kee then goes into detail about the tough life on the streets, talking about killers running around and sick chickens (drug addicts) that are ready to shoot at anyone. He describes how he hustles to make money, but also how he doesn't hold back when it comes to violence and death. The chorus echoes the sentiment of the song, telling people to back off of him and respect his trademark.
The second verse continues with more of the same, detailing how Mr. Kee is from the Southside and how he has taken over New Orleans. He talks about his enemies and how he is always prepared with weapons to face them. He also shows his pride in being part of TRU and how they are the real clique, not those who pretend to be slangin' dubs. Overall, the song is a harsh look at life on the streets and how people have to fight to survive.
