Taking a tour of my old mans ways
Exploring the lifestyle and habits of my father

His life is an all-you-can-eat buffet
My father has experienced a lot in life and has a lot of knowledge to share

Food for thought enough for days
His experiences and thoughts are enough to reflect on for a long time

Mediocre in the best ways
Despite not being extraordinary, he is still admirable

There's a lemon tree that's decades old
There is an old and unproductive lemon tree in the vicinity

It barely makes any juice but it's still worth gold
Though the tree is not fruitful, it still has value and worth to someone

Rough around the edges and hard to hold
The tree has some flaws and is not easy to manage

When the earth crumbles at your feet, its roots take hold
Even in the worst of times, the tree perseveres and remains grounded

Driving fast through stratosphere
Traveling quickly through the atmosphere of the earth

So far away, the day's a year
The distance and speed make time feel longer

Nothing we can do about it
We cannot change the speed or distance we are traveling

Quicker, quicker don't lose speed
We need to maintain our speed or we will slow down

Hypersonic need
We have a strong desire to travel at high speeds

Don't look on the dash we could crash in a flash
We should not lose focus or we might crash suddenly

There's a shitty car that shouldn't be on the road
A poorly maintained car that is not safe to be driven

With a certain nudge it goes into overload
We can push it past its limits but it might break down or malfunction

It does what it needs and never gets towed
Despite its issues, the car still does its job and is never abandoned

It's not taken care of but somehow still glows
Even without proper attention, the car still has some beauty or appeal

In the garden there's a shed that's in a mess
There is a disorganized and cluttered shed in the garden

It doesn't do much but stands nonetheless
The shed may not have a clear purpose or function, but it still exists

I've tried to change it without much success
Attempts to improve or organize the shed have not been fruitful

I've given up I must confess
I have resigned myself to leaving the shed as is

You've got to understand to live now
We need to appreciate and live in the present moment

Make now always the most precious time
The present moment is the most valuable and important time

Now will never come again
Once the present moment is gone, it can never be experienced again

And if you're worried about pain and mistakes and consequences
If we fear the negative aspects of life

Well I would gladly risk feeling bad at times if it also meant that I could taste my orange juice
I would still take risks and face negative outcomes if it meant I could also experience positive moments
