Formed in Dublin in the late 1990's, mrnorth have had quite an odyssey leading up to the release of their debut record Lifesize. The four-piece, made up of two brothers, a first cousin and a next door neighbor, started playing together when they were young teens. After making some noise on the Dublin scene, the boys left Ireland for Vicenza, Italy. The trip was supposed to last for 3 months, just long enough for a producer to put down some tracks for a record. Instead, the band became local favorites and toured all of Italy for the next two years. Then, the band met up with an American manager who brought them to New York City. With constant performances, mrnorth built up a great fan base in New York and eventually all over the Northeast. Next, the band caught the eye of several record executives. mrnorth scored a record deal and went into the studio with Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads, Live, No Doubt). The result was Lifesize, 12 moving tunes of epic proportions. Lifesize allows the listener to feel an enormous lift with each song from start to finish, just as it is delivered by mrnorth in the live performance. The record exhibits an incredible unity and tightness among its four members. Smith delivers the songs with one of the most powerful and original voices in music today and is often compared to Jeff Buckley, Thom Yorke and Freddie Mercury. Audiences are constantly blown away by the charismatic singer's vocals combined with his energetic performances. mrnorth broke out of the Northeast in 2003 with tours in the Southeast, Midwest, West Coast and Hawaii including support shows with Liz Phair, Puddle of Mudd, Sheryl Crow, Evanescence, Bruce Willis and 'Lollapalooza 2003. 2004 saw them taking part in Lollapalooza, Nashville Rivers, Camp Jeep and Music Fest as well as supporting The Who, Van Halen, Live and Brian Adams. The band have spent the last few months writing and recording the follow up to Lifesize.

I’m letting it control me
Just look what you’ve done to me
I’m loosing my mind slowly
What is you want in my zone let me know(what is you want in my zone?)
All that I keep in my closet are bones
Drugged in this feeling can’t act on my own
So just listen to my heart beat calling you should
Let me in(ah ya)
let me in(oh,ah ya)
Girl I want somebody who can let me in
Shawty Let me in
Let me in
(Falling for you slowly,slowly
Falling for you)
Looking for somebody who can let me in(falling for you)
Let me in
Mmmmmm, I've fallen for you
Mmmm, I've fallen for you
I've fallen for you
I've fallen for you
The muse in my life
Bring that spark in my life
In life you lucky if you find the one that was made for you(your wife)
trust is all we got never let it go
most people wanna see us break & let it go
but deeper we go we feeling like ladipoe
Never be on the low
Burn em all
Spend on you never worried about the cost
my queen worth all & more
Mi amor ready for the war
Balling to the sun,non stop
Travel round the world
see places we never seen before
(Uhh)!
Night lay you down feel it in your spine
The best part of my life
one more thing to ask,can I have this dance?
I've fallen for you
Falling, falling for you slowly, slowly
Falling for you, falling for youuu
Falling for you slowly, slowly
Falling for you, falling for you
(You should let me in)
Let me in (falling for you slowly, slowly)
Girl I want somebody who can let me in
Shawty let me in
Let me in
Looking for somebody who can let me in
Let me in
Mmmmm,I'm falling for you
Mmmm, I've fallen for you
I'm fallen for you
The lyrics in Mr. North's Let Me In tell a story about living life on the edge and not caring about the consequences. The lyrics describe Mr. North's reckless lifestyle and his "north side" attitude towards life. He starts off describing his car, a Mazzaradi, drifting through traffic and not caring if he gets caught with illegal substances like lettuce and a trunk full of cabbage. He boasts about smoking runtz, a strong type of marijuana, and jokes about the packaging being like that of a Willy Wonka candy. He also mentions a person, Lil Syzygy, who he describes as a "savage" because she drinks lemonade with the runtz in it. This all shows his nonchalant attitude towards the law and his dangerous lifestyle.
The lyrics also describe Mr. North's violent tendencies. He says that he eats rappers like they are dinner and enjoys it. He mentions that he is used to the "dirty" lifestyle and knows that he needs to watch his back constantly. He also talks about being ready to fight at any moment, and how he is not afraid to use violence to get what he wants. He references some of his favourite slang words and mentions his blue flag, signifying his affiliation with the Crips gang.
Overall, the lyrics of Let Me In provide insight into Mr. North's life and his attitude towards the world. They showcase his love for danger, his disrespect for the law, and his willingness to do whatever it takes to get ahead.
