Some would call him a Sacramento hip hop legend… Read Full Bio ↴Who is Mr. P Chill?
Some would call him a Sacramento hip hop legend. Others would call him a revolutionary. Some would call him an emcee on a mission. And yet others would call him the essence of hip hop itself. All of those descriptions are true. This Sacramento hip hop vet lays his entire lifetime of experiences on every track, every drop of blood and sweat and every tear shed is a part of what makes his music so real. P Chill is not some emcee hiding behind a partition of lies, but rather a person as real as you. Chill writes of the hardships of the working poor, the pain of heartbreak, the anger of the youth and tries to find solutions to a world gone wrong.
P Chill released his first recordings in 1992 while a part of a group. Over the next 20 years Chill has continued to grow not only as an emcee, but as a natural born leader. Chill’s philosophy is that he has been given an incredible opportunity to reach the masses with his voice, so he must use his voice for something constructive, not just talk about senseless, random, materialistic things. Having spent the past 8 years performing up and down the west coast of the United States, selling countless copies of his 6 albums hand to hand as well as over the internet, Chill has decided that the time has come to expand even further. The message of peace and equality that P Chill spreads is universal and needs to be heard. Chill had spent much of 2011 on the road promoting his two releases that year; ONCE AGAIN and ALL SERIOUSNESS ASIDE all over the United States and has already gotten 2012 off to a good start on the road as well.
There is a wind of change blowing in hip hop and P Chill will have that wind at his back as he moves forward into 2012!

On my back, on a blanket with my baby, that's where I 'wanna be
But it ain't 'gonna happen 'cause my baby ain't my baby no more
And she's gone away to a far, far land where she won't see me anymore
Now you see me in the shadows, you see me walking alone
And I can tell your love can trick a mind but it sure as hell hurts when it's gone
But a man must stand on his own two feet, he can't get knocked down
And if you carry your heart on your sleeve, wear a jacket, no one wants to see it
We all 'gotta hide from the sharks of our kid, don't let them smell your blood
And at night we go hunting and we catch all the weak ones
And prepare them in the rarest of rare, get the real fresh meat taste
So don't come try fool me, don't even bother being nice
You can't pick out your pretty little flavour, this mouth doesn't have eyes
But every man knows the hunger, yeah, every man knows the thirst
After being in the dessert for days you know what you sink your teeth into first
And the fact of the matter is, we all got to eat
You come here with your pretty face and let me shed your meat

The singer is confident in himself, his style, and his appeal, stating that others find him attractive when he dresses this way. The use of repetition in the chorus reinforces the singer's assertion that his fashion sense is unmatched.
Verse one is delivered by Sir Luscious, who boasts about his fashion choices, which include gator belts and patty melts, Monte Carlos, and El Dorados. The comparisons used in the verse, such as feeling like Rollo, Showtime at the Apollo minus Kiki Shepards, Teddy Pendergrass cooler than Freddie Jackson, and blowing hay, are all used to emphasize the singer's coolness and unique style. The verse concludes by shutting down anyone who thinks they can match his level, stating, "But you must have me mistaken with them statements that you make."
In verse two, the singer talks about his car and his plans for the day. He intends to go to the Honeycomb-Hideout, where he will display his fancy car with its freshly dipped rims. He uses the example of Jack Tripper to emphasize that he knows how to "wild out," and also includes some sexual innuendos in his rhymes.
