Some would call him a Sacramento hip hop legend… Read Full Bio ↴Who is Mr. P Chill?
Some would call him a Sacramento hip hop legend. Others would call him a revolutionary. Some would call him an emcee on a mission. And yet others would call him the essence of hip hop itself. All of those descriptions are true. This Sacramento hip hop vet lays his entire lifetime of experiences on every track, every drop of blood and sweat and every tear shed is a part of what makes his music so real. P Chill is not some emcee hiding behind a partition of lies, but rather a person as real as you. Chill writes of the hardships of the working poor, the pain of heartbreak, the anger of the youth and tries to find solutions to a world gone wrong.
P Chill released his first recordings in 1992 while a part of a group. Over the next 20 years Chill has continued to grow not only as an emcee, but as a natural born leader. Chill’s philosophy is that he has been given an incredible opportunity to reach the masses with his voice, so he must use his voice for something constructive, not just talk about senseless, random, materialistic things. Having spent the past 8 years performing up and down the west coast of the United States, selling countless copies of his 6 albums hand to hand as well as over the internet, Chill has decided that the time has come to expand even further. The message of peace and equality that P Chill spreads is universal and needs to be heard. Chill had spent much of 2011 on the road promoting his two releases that year; ONCE AGAIN and ALL SERIOUSNESS ASIDE all over the United States and has already gotten 2012 off to a good start on the road as well.
There is a wind of change blowing in hip hop and P Chill will have that wind at his back as he moves forward into 2012!
The Rain

The lyrics of the song "The Rain" by Mr. P Chill are in Japanese, which depicts a story of lost love and regret. The song opens with a dialogue between two individuals during a rainy day where one person tells the other not to say goodbye while the other person asks why they would say such a thing. The second individual responds by saying that since it's raining today, something might happen because the day something happened in the past it was raining. The first individual then makes a remark about how they always feel like it's raining around them.
The second verse then goes on to talk about the first individual staring out the window, saying how they're not used to being happy and can't even imagine loving someone. They mention that they remember the rainy day when something happened, and when the other person offers them an umbrella, they just laugh it off. The third verse shows a time lapse that reveals the singer has parted ways with the individual from the past. He thinks back to the day when she cried and asks himself why he didn't offer an umbrella to her. He wonders why he couldn't save her even though he thinks that he's been rained on more than others, unable to come out of his regretful state of mind.
Overall, the lyrics of the song describe how sometimes rain can be a metaphor for sadness, and how it can linger on in our memories for years to come. The second individual in the song's first verse is a representation of how sadness and sorrow can affect an individual, deeply ingrained in one's mind and not able to let go of it easily.
