The project started humbly by utilizing only freely obtained equipment, and in the beginning, it was an attempt at producing high quality lo-fi music with a very tight budget. Electronic breaks and nerd-ish raps were the momentum ascribed to by the first release and since then it has changed into more of an obsession. Retro-computing was an interest at an early age to Nathan, starting with the Tandy color computer, drooling over the Commodore 64, and eventually receiving a NES from his grandparents at a young age. Mr. Spastic is reliving his childhood and delving into forgotten pasts by using modern musical techniques and antiquated equipment, spastically synthesizing and unifying multiple platforms to produce original retro tunage.

@StarWarFan I believe the guy wasn't mute the entire time. First of all, if you're mute and have to rely on typing you're not going to be such a poor typer like he was. Even in a hurry.
I'm not really convinced that the dude was mute and House fixed it with botox. You're telling me the doctors wouldn't have thought of botox, an incredibly simple solution? Even if it's a rare case, if the doctors find no other explanation then the other two explanations are (1) he's faking, or (2) must be that rare side effect and will try botox.
Yes, it's a show that is enamored with highlighting Houses genius, but that is an incredibly lazy approach for this problem/episode. The writers wouldn't have made it simple like that...
Lastly, if we assume he was mute the whole time and just recently got his voice back....and he was frightened...he almost certainly would produce a sound because he's not use to forcing his voice down. However, even after being shocked he is perfectly capable of not making an audible shriek to being scared implying he was never mute, and had practiced these kinds of things.
This is just simple... Believe it or not, the show pays quite a fair bit of attention to details. I don't believe they would have...missed...all these opportunities and messed all this up.

An incredible peice of detail I noticed. When house tries to scare the patient to talk the first time, you can see the patient involuntarily open his amount to scream but unable to produce a sound (indicating that his condition wasn't faked). But the second time house tries to scare him, he consciously keeps his mouth closed as a way to prevent himself from producing sound (since he could actually talk this time).

that's amazing. I've always thought this subplot as the dad faking the whole time, but it would make more sense that House actually cured it (because why else would they include that scene if he didn't). Your detail gives more credibility to this interpretation
