The businessmen grabbed everything they could
In contrast, some people may try to take advantage of the situation and hoard resources for their own benefit, without regard for others.

We lived in total darkness for a year and twenty days
For over a year, we endured a bleak and hopeless existence, with no end in sight.

Lots of folk had given up and wandered far astray
Many people felt so despondent and lost that they gave up on life altogether and wandered aimlessly.

The faithful were rewarded in the end
Those who held on to hope and faith despite the darkness eventually saw their patience and persistence rewarded.

The cloud lifted and the sun appeared again
Eventually, the darkness lifted, and the sun of hope and possibility shone again.

All living beings, no matter how small or insignificant, are connected and part of the same ecosystem, with a shared fate.
