The Train
Ms. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on

I need to make the proper connection
To get my popper injection
My customs infection
So I can proceed in the right direction
I need to ride, ride, ride, ride

Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on

Sunshine or rain, pleasure or pain
Release my stress, release my pain
Don't want it simple, don't want to plane
I want some men in there on a frame

Bring on the wreck, bring on the chamb'
You've got me waitin', waitin' in vain
Don't make me wait
Please don't make me wait

You get the jab on the boys on a play
We know to lay, it's time to slave
Side to side, ready for the ride
Up and down, swing its around

Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on

Are u the conductor ?
Be my instructor
Simple and plane, show me the train
Can I please get on the last train

Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on
Get get up, get get on

Can I please get on the last train

Overall Meaning

The song "The Train" by Ms. is a fast-paced, high-energy track with a catchy chorus that repeats the phrase "Get get up, get get on" throughout. The lyrics talk about the sense of urgency and excitement that comes with needing to catch a train to get somewhere, whether it's for a fun adventure or to fulfill an important obligation. The singer is in search of her "popper injection," which could refer to drugs or some other kind of fix that she needs to help her get through the day. She talks about wanting men on a frame and bringing on the wreck and the cham, which could be interpreted as innuendos for sexual activity or simply a desire for a wild ride. The singer asks the listener if they are the conductor and could be interpreted as asking for guidance on this journey. The song ends with the plea to be allowed onto the last train, implying that there is a sense of urgency in getting to the desired destination before it's too late.

Thanks for being patient for the lyrics.....

I don't want to be first in line to see Mrs. Train
I expect that it doesn't matter to Mrs. Train
Being comfortable with yourself
And being patient and taking your time
Are the things that Mrs. Train can understand

I've never seen a train like this before
But then again, there's never been
A train like this before, like Mrs. Train
And someone's got to be the one to declare
That they want to be next in line to see Mrs. Train
But I don't want to be first in line to see Mrs. Train
I expect that it doesn't matter to Mrs. Train
Being patient and taking your time
Are things a train can understand
And I'll be happy when I finally take her hand

There's never been a train like this before
Someone's got to be the one
At the head of the line to first see Mrs. Train
But I'm not in any rush to head the line
And so the line has a missing head

And I don't want to be first in line to see the missing head
I expect that it doesn't matter to the missing head
Being patient and taking your time
Are things that a head can understand
And I'll be happy when I finally take its hand

There's never been a head like this before
Someone's got to be the one
At the head of the line to first see the missing head
But I'm not in any rush to head the line
And so the line has a missing head

(Missing head) And I don't want to be first in line to see the missing head
(Missing head) I expect that it doesn't matter to the missing head
Being patient and taking your time
Are things that a head can understand
And I'll be happy when I finally take its hand

I've never heard a song like this before. But then again, there's never been a song like this before, like Mrs. Train

@CRDuh1234

Love it!! ❤

@PinataTime

Wish TMBG would release a new collection of rare songs, this is such a cool song.

@LukeHennisch

If only they finished making it. There were plans for one to release one around 1996, but that idea got crushed after they left Elektra and the Then: The Earlier Years collection project came into view. Really hope they release it someday.

@ThreadBomb

I got this song by buying the John Henry+Factory Showroom 2 CD release. When the song finishes, my brain expects it to be immediately followed by the remix of Snail Shell called "Snail Dust".

@PinataTime

@@ThreadBomb I have it via the EP “back to skull” just really wish it came out in a more convenient collection like on Spotify

@mightisright

I wish they'd play it live some time.

@monsterofmud

It’s coming! Flansburgh mentioned all the EPs getting reissue in a sort of compiled form soon :)

I like how this song speeds up slowly like a train

@LukeHennisch

I expect that it doesn’t matter to the missing head that I comment now.
