Philadelphia-bred punk ba… Read Full Bio ↴"Do whatever you want, whenever you want."
Philadelphia-bred punk band emerges from the basement scene with melodic and emotional songs capturing youthful sentiment with mature execution. Nick Morrison, Ian Amidon, Scott Stitzer and Sean Reilly play music "because they fall short in almost everything else." - Milkboy
Nick (vocals & guitar) is the original “mumblr”. While demoing the songs to the rest of the band, he would mumble melodies over the music because he hadn't yet written lyrics. He says he has a really bad problem with mumbling in his day-to-day life and liked the idea of a person who softly talks to themselves, either because they have no one to listen or they think nobody cares.
In the fall of 2013, they wrote, recorded and released 4 pieces (Corner Store EP, White Jesus/Black God, Sorry Daddy, Bang Bang EP) solidifying their unique, self-branded sound, "fuzz punk."
Their full-length debut Full of Snakes was released by Fleeting Youth Records on September 16, 2014.
Sober
Mumblr Lyrics

they weren't from me, probably her boyfriend or family or something
I'm freaking out, I'm freaking out
outside of your house
I feel so old when I get sober
and if he comes out he'll meet the unfriendly end of a shotgun
I'm freaking out, I'm freaking out
outside of your house
I feel so old when I get sober
when I get sober
The song "Sober" by Mumblr is all about the singer's experience with sobriety and the emotions that come with it. The opening lyrics reveal that the singer is feeling anxious and paranoid as they describe seeing roses inside of someone's house. The roses aren't from them, but they speculate they may be from the person's boyfriend or family. This creates a sense of jealousy and insecurity in the singer. The repetition of the phrase "I'm freaking out" emphasizes the intensity of their emotions.
In the next verse, the singer switches their focus to the person they're with. They mention smoking for two and seeing roses inside of the person they're with as well. However, they also suggest that if anyone threatens their relationship, they'll resort to violence. This reinforces the sense of possessiveness and fear that the singer is experiencing.
The final line, "I feel so old when I get sober," encapsulates the overall theme of the song. Sobriety often brings uncertain emotions and feelings of being overwhelmed or disconnected from the world. The song's intense lyrics are a reflection of this, capturing the singer's raw and often unsettling emotions in the face of sobriety.
