I have been looking for this song for the last 15 years! I could remember the melody from when I was a kid, but none of the words, and I could never figure out how to find the song. Luckily, I just heard it while picking up a coffee at Subway - paid very close attention to the chorus, then googled the lyrics, and voila! Found this song. Brings me back to spending time with my Grandparents, RIP to them both. Thanks for this!

Heard it in 1989 when it was written - the annus mirabilus, the year the Berlin Wall fell. Taped it off the air, learned it, have been singing it at New Year's ever since.
