Black Holes and Revelations (2006) incorporated electronic and pop elements, displayed in singles such as "Supermassive Black Hole", and brought Muse wider international success. The Resistance (2009) and The 2nd Law (2012) explored themes of government oppression and civil uprising and cemented Muse as one of the world's major stadium acts. Rolling Stone stated the band possessed "stadium-crushing songs". Topping the US Billboard 200, their seventh album, Drones (2015), was a concept album about drone warfare and returned to a harder rock sound. Their eighth album, Simulation Theory (2018), prominently featured synthesisers and was influenced by science fiction and the simulation hypothesis. Their ninth album, Will of the People (2022), which combined many genres and themes from their previous albums, was released in August 2022.
Muse have won numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards, five MTV Europe Music Awards and eight NME Awards. In 2012 they received the Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors. As of June 2016, they have sold over 30 million albums worldwide.

Muse Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I'll do it myself, it's got nothing to do with you
And there's nothing that you can do
You can see it and you can almost hear it too
You can almost taste it, it's nothing to do with you
And there's still nothing that you can do
Come in my cave and I'll burn your hearts away
Please close your ears and try to look away
So you'll never hear a single word I say
And don't ever come my way
Leave me alone, it's nothing serious
I'll do it myself, it's got nothing to do with you
And there's still nothing that you can do
So come in my cave, and I'll burn your hearts away
Come in my cave, and arrest me for my mistakes
The lyrics to Muse's song Cave are tinged with darkness and self-destruction. The singer is engaging in self-deprecating behavior and is asking to be left alone. The line "Leave me alone, it's nothing serious, I'll do it myself, it's got nothing to do with you" indicates that the singer sees their behavior as a personal matter and not one that concerns others. The line "And there's nothing that you can do" could be interpreted in two ways; one, it could mean that the singer is hopeless and lost and that there's no hope for them. Alternatively, it could mean that the singer has decided to take control of their life, and no one can stop them.
The chorus of the song is the most significant part where he invites the listener into his cave. He lets them know that he will "burn their hearts away." This line is crucial as it shows the singer's self-destructive side. He has given up on himself, and he is inviting others into his darkness, not to help him, but to destroy them.
The final verse is a reiteration of the first two verses, with slight modification. The singer is still asking to be left alone, and there's nothing anyone can do to help them. However, the closing line "and arrest me for my mistakes" is significant. It is a cry for help, the singer is acknowledging that they have done something wrong and wants consequences, and hopefully, redemption.
In conclusion, Cave is a haunting song that explores themes of self-destruction, hopelessness, and redemption.

@Careful Icarus Damn...these first 2 records are masterpieces... Didn't really follow after. Saw them on all the first 3 tours (opening for Rammstein on the OoS festival tour hahaha), but the Absolution crowd was just horrible already! Still talentous, but their first two records were so...selfish...sound like they put all their ideas in these albums.

Especially with whatever all that nonsense is that theyve done over the past 10 years

I went to see Muse in a tiny venue in Leicester and they were horrendously late. The tension in the audience was mounting and finally they arrived and sheepishly apologised - they had been recording their debut on Top of the Pops! 😂 It was a brilliant gig.

That's a cool story! Thanks for sharing. Love these dudes.
@groove_6080
chorus and ending are instrumentally the best matt has ever written
@davidb6691
Chorus is just 3 chords. I'm not saying it isn't good. Quite the contrary. Those 3 chords sound sooooooooooo good with his "COME IN MY CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE" scream, it's very powerful.
