Exo-Politics
Muse Lyrics

Open the skies over me
I am waiting patiently
I'll wait for a sign
As conspiracy unwind
Will you slam shut or free your mind?
Or stay hypnotized

When the Zetas fill the skies
Will our leaders tell us why
Fully loaded satellites
Will conquer nothing but our minds

I'm waiting patiently
And I'll wait for the sign

Carried through the centuries
Secrets locked up
Are loaded on my back
And it weighs me down

When the Zetas fill the skies
It's just our leaders in disguise
Fully loaded satellites
Will conquer nothing but our minds

I'm waiting patiently
And I'll wait for the sign
I'm waiting patiently
And I'll wait for the sign

Simpaticus

This song is among the top 10 best Muse songs. Can't understand why it is so underrated.

Dan Faulkner

Because it's distinctly average, and a bit dull, compared to their best stuff.

marlon ortiz

Final Score Yes i might not be the primary reason for the choice dm for a lot of songs
Im looking at the physical instrument not music theory. Cmaj/Amin and Gmaj/Emin are popular for being simple with no/little sharps
But im pointing out the tuning or other reasons may influence the key
Singers like Eb instead of E because it easier to sing
Stevie wonder preferred Keys with a lot of sharps or flats because its easier to play because he is blind
Also a common thing to do on a song is to end on s low/high note of a key and its “better” to tune the low E to a low D for example Pyscho ends on a high D and stockholm finishes on a low D , reapers low d

Final Score

@Bruh Wastaken that doesn't explain the prevalence of Am and Gm though. Not refuting it entirely--Stockholm Syndrome and Psycho are good examples where we see that open D pedalled as an anchor for the key, clearly suggesting that the key of the song was around before the melody was associated.

Of course, the 0305030 (Psycho) riff was used as an outro to SS since Absolution tour days, so we already knew that for that one.

In music theory, if an explanation makes sense, it's correct. If another does, that's also correct.

Final Score well it may be d min for his vocal range and the dadgbe tuning fir guitar and bass
